A few notes…
– The world continues to wonder just what Coach Cal meant this morning when he Tweeted out “Kaboom!” to his four hundred gazillion followers. You all came up with some great ideas, including noting that Kaboom backwards seems to indicate that Cal found another year of eligibility for Heshimu Evans. Matt pointed out that “Kaboom” is what Seth Davis Tweeted after the Kanter news broke. Is that some sort of hint? I don’t know. I know I’m not going to question Matt Jones. Diapers are expensive.
– Another person wisely pointed out that UK SID DeWayne Peevy also had a potentially foreshadowing Tweet this morning that might tie into what Calipari was teasing. Peevy said this:
A better way, huh? Hmmm. Do we need to start making guesses again?
– Jeff Goodman was on a radio station in Houston this morning talking about his story last night that tied several big name coaches to a Ponzi scheme organized by a the founder of Houston Elite. During that interview, Goodman said all of Baylor’s staff was involved and the host said that Billy Gillispie was one of the last people to see David Salinas alive. According to the host, Clyde stopped by his office a week or so ago and had some not-so-friendly words with him about the Ponzi scheme. That doesn’t necessarily mean that Clyde is suspicious in any way, after all Salinas died of an apparent suicide, not too much belittling, but it just seems like the guy can’t catch a break in terms of the news he makes.
– Another name fell off the Kentucky football board today as four-star Drae Bowles picked Tennessee. Bowles had an offer from UK and the Tennessee native has risen over the past few months into being regarded as one of the top receivers in the nation. He is the Vols’ fourth recruit in the class and isn’t from Alcoa, so he probably won’t be very good.
If you missed Kentucky Sports Radio this morning, make sure you listen to the podcast below. Buzz Baker and Oscar Combs brought it strong and welcomed in Evan Daniels and Jacob Tamme to talk sports. Check it out.
