UK Fans Of The Day Want Afternoon Notes

Ashley Judd is pictured here with the UK Goatee of the Day.

— We all know Kentucky will be good next year, the question now becomes just how good?  Kentucky will feature a player at every position that would most likely start for any other team in America, save potentially for North Carolina.  And it’s that kind of talent that got UK noted as the number three front court in the nation going into next season by ESPN.  And in all honesty, doesn’t number 3 seem a little low?  They are behind North Carolina at number 1 which is understandable.  But number two is Ohio State – solely because of Jared Sullinger.  Now, don’t get me wrong, but I’ll take Vargas/Davis/Jones/Wiltjer over Sullinger any day.  But maybe that’s just me.

— Josh Harrellson works out for the Sacramento Kings today as he continues his efforts to convince a team they need Jean Shorts in the locker room.  Sacramento would be wise to select Jorts, especially if they want to please their Kentucky demographic.  BBN travels in waves.  If Sacramento is starting Boogie and bringing Jorts off the bench, they will have a home games on the road anytime they come close to Lexington. Jorts may very well be working out right now, so go ahead and send some positive vibes that direction.

— Speaking of the NBA, apparently there may be some more drama going on with LeBron James.  Stephen A Smith – the same guy that called ‘the decision’ for Miami before most anyone else – said on Mike and Mike earlier today that there may be some off the court issues that are causing LeBron to not play up to his full potential this series.  I’m sure you all remember the rumors (that were never proven to be anything more than rumors,) that started at the end of his Cavs career, seemingly giving credit to the lack of team chemistry.  Now, I’m not trying to say that anyone down in Miami is up to some shenanigans, but announcing that there may be off the court issues and then not expanding upon them is exactly how those rumors get started.  Either way, count me as one of those that expect James to drop 30+ tonight.

— Two surprises so far today.  1.) We are two days in to Deandre Daniels commitment to UConn and seemingly he has not yet changed his mind.  We’ll keep you posted.  And 2.) so far, no new recruit has committed to play for Joker today.  Again, with the rate Phillips is cranking out commitments, it could happen at any  moment.  We will let you know.

— That’s about it in the sporting world so far today.  Meanwhile, we are in day one of our CBS boycott over here, so will someone let me know what happens on NCIS tonight?  Thanks.

Here’s your podcast for those of you that didn’t get a chance to listen live, take it away Matt…

Sullinger still has nightmares about Josh, he’s nothing to worry about. If we get anything out of Vargas next year, we are deep, big, talented and experienced. All you need is a little luck at that point and anything is possible next year

I’m no LeBron hater. But how come it seems like when he has a bad “big” game, rumors start to come out about him dealing with personal issues. I’ve been watching NBA for a long time now, and can never recall other “superstars” making similar excuses. Of course, then again, Magic, Bird, and MJ NEVER laid eggs in the BIG games like LeBron seems to do. MAN the F up Bron.

Lebron needs better women in his life. His mom and Delonte last year and his fiance and Rashard Lewis this year. Too comical.

The picture was better before they photoshopped out Ashley’s pit stains.

The fix is in. Lebron only took one shot in the Fourth Quarter and wasn’t even trying to play defense. I think Wade fumbling the pass on the last possession was a little fishy too. The Heat will win tonight and Lebron will dominate. Game 6 will go to the Mavs after another Lebron purposefully induced stink-bomb. The Heat will win Game 7 going away. This was scripted weeks ago.

UK and Henry Clay alum Collin Cowgill is listed on ESPN as one of fantasy guru Jason Grey’s top 11 minor league players to keep an eye on, as they could see a big league call-up in the near future

rcpeck2 – Still Bitter? Be glad you made it on KSR, not mad about not getting to stand next to Ashley 7 years ago. Ashley is the ultimate UK fan! She was very polite to me and everyone else in the E-Zone that day (including my little sister). It was a great game and is still one of my best UK memories. Thanks for posting it Will!

No. 3 with the projected no.1 pick and two other projected lottery picks-and against a team we beat with less talent when they had more talent? That is absurd…a freaking joke…perhaps ESPN is feeling guilty for helping to sink the OSU football team…about the only excuse for this kind of magical thinking.
