UK and the fake USC: Inside the numbers

There have been few consistent positives in the last three games for the Kentucky football team as they’ve struggled at various points with almost every aspect of the game.  However, the brightest spot, especially in the last two games, has been the potency of the offensive attack, which, despite some questionable play calling from time to time, looks to be a formidable unit.  The Cats are currently averaging 36 points per game and quarterback Mike Hartline, who has been criticized consistently since becoming starter, now has some calling him the second-best quarterback in the SEC (I don’t know if I’d put him that high).  But, tonight, the Cats are going to run into a monster that they haven’t seen yet this season.  The South Carolina defense is unlike any of the three units they’ve seen in the SEC and is as aggressive and opportunistic as any in the nation.  Will the much-praised UK offensive line hold off the attack?  Will the Cats be able to put up points on a defense that is giving up half of their average?  We shall see.  Here is how the numbers break down:
