Tyler Smith withdraws from draft

He doesn’t want to miss this.

According to Jeff Goodman, UT’s Tyler Smith will announce at 3pm that he intends to return to the Vols next year. Smith was the team’s leading scorer (17.8 ppg), second leadin rebounder (5.8 rpg) and top assist man (3.4 apg) last season. Smith has one more season of eligibility left.  South Carolina’s Dominique Archie also has withdrawn his name and the fake USC still awaits Devan Downey’s decision.

Meanwhile, Goodman also reports that he expects Jodie Meeks will withdraw his name at some point because guarantees are typically not given to late first-rounders and that is what Jodie is looking for. I still contend that Meeks is a candidate to go in the first round whether he stays in or not because I did far too much research on draft positioning for my time to have been wasted for nothing, right?  Either way, I do know that as of yesterday, Jodie had made no decision and had no intentions of doing so until the weekend. The deadline for withdrawal is Monday.
