Tyler Roberson gets an offer

After watching his workout at Roselle Catholic High School in Union, New Jersey last night, Coach Cal and Orlando Antigua extended a scholarship offer to Tyler Roberson. Tuesday’s visit was Antigua’s second trip to see Roberson in the past week; he was in Union last Thursday to watch him work out while Calipari stuck around Lexington for the fantasy camp.

The UK staff invited Roberson to come down to Lexington for an official visit, but he hasn’t decided if he’ll use one of his two remaining visits on Kentucky. He already has officials scheduled to SMU, Kansas and Syracuse.

Roberson is No. 24 on the ESPN Top 100 for the class of 2013.

Watch him ball…

We must not feel entirely good about Randle and especially Aaron Gordon if we’d offer Marcus Lee and Tyler Robinson. I wonder if the staff feels like they wasted a scholarship on Willis now?

I believe this might have a lot to do with James Young, also. Everyone says it’s going to be best class ever. Well, I would feel a lot better if some of these guys would start committing. I’m not sure what they are waiting on, if it’s inevitable. Getting a little worried.

Lee is a center on the college level because of his shot blocking and his lack of post scoring ability. Roberson is a versatile defender with length and size, a developmental combo forward, his role at the University of Kentucky would not be to score the basketball. Kentucky is expected to land the Harrison twins and that could happen on Oct 29 their planned announcement date according to their father. Kentucky is also in good position for Julius Randle not to mention Wiggins, if he indeed does reclassify. Offering Lee and Roberson in no way indicates any lack of confidence in signing Julius Randle, it looks to me that Cal and staff are simply feeling out the roster with possible role players to play with the scorers and play makers that UK is good position to land. As for Willis, Kentucky has to have a Kentucky born player on the roster and he is it, Im from the state and can appreciate that.

This class must be backing out. Parker won’t come. Confidence in getting randle and the twins must be low after offering both a shooting guard and small forward this past week

Guys, it’s the beginning of the school year, don’t worry about us not having any big recruits committed yet. Almost all of the top recruits have decide to wait until spring to decide anyways and the Harrison twins are deciding in October. Just relax. Why does everyone continually question Cal? He offers other guys to be safe and so we can have other guys to come off the bench. If we only got the twins, randle, and wiggins that would leave only WCS at center and Wiltjer to come off the bench. That’s all based on if WCS and Wiltjer stay another year and all of our 2012 recruits go to the NBA.
