Two Cats Beat Long Odds to Make NFL Rosters

Yesterday was not only a big win for the current Cats on the football field, it was also a big win for some former Cats trying to make their dreams come true in the NFL. Micah Johnson made the final roster for the Miami Dolphins and Tim Masthay did the same for the Green Bay Packers. Masthay won the punting job for the Packers, after losing two other jobs over the last two seasons in training camp. He now has a chance to kick for a potential Super Bowl contender this season and become part of the elusive NFL kicker fraternity. Even more surprising is the great news for Micah, who was originally cut by the New York Giants early in Training Camp. He was then picked up by Parcells and the Dolphins and considered a long shot to make the roster. He however impressed the Miami coaches, and beat out some more experienced veterans to make the squad.

For both young men, this honor comes after a lot of hard work and dedication. We wish both of them a ton of success and look forward to seeing them join Wesley Woodyard, Keenan Burton, Jeremy Jarmon and the other former Cats on NFL sidelines this fall.
