AWESOME! I sure would have liked that Oriakhi – Noel front-court. Oh well, that Mizzou game will be a hell of game.

A translation, for those who will inevitably comment that they don’t know what’s going on with the kids and their newfangled Twitter-speak:

Alex: “It’s the first day of classes!”

    Nerlens: “Study hard, you fool.”

Alex: “[Laughing out loud.] You’re a fool. When do you get to Lexington?”

Nerlens: “Ah ha. I’m over here! Do you like it there?”

Alex: “Yeah, man, a lot. How do you like it out there?”

    Nerlens: “Real good.”

Alex: “When do you start classes?”

    Nerlens: “Wednesday. How about you?”

Alex: “Started today. Don’t you be getting thrown on in pick up.”

Nerlens: “Are you sick?! LOL. Don’t you get thrown on when you come to Rupp.”

    Alex: “By whom? LOL.”

Nerlens: “The *whole team*. You’re a poster, boy!”

just for the record, “getting thrown on,” means getting dunked on, usually in an emasculating way. being dunked on can and is also referred to as “being posterized,” hence the anthropomorphizing of the poster in nerlens’ final “diss.” a diss is a cutting epigrammatic final thrust in repartee. there you go old people.

#4 – Really? It wasn’t like that was a vocal conversation between two uofl basketball players. Just a bit over the top to do a break down – and time consuming too. I’m sure none of your ‘friends’ think you’re a douche, right?

    6) Look overhead. That’s a joke up there. You probably couldn’t see Aminu’s smile because he’s already gone by.

I love it! A senior who has been on a national championship team toe to toe, in good fun, against a UK freshman. That’s about right.
