Last night I issued a challenge, albeit one that I hoped would not be met. On Twitter via the KSR account (where prizes may or may not be given out this fall, so you might want to follow), I said that I had a bet that there were no KSR fans that were also going to the midnight premiere of the movie “Twilight.” My reasoning was simple…”Twilight” tended to draw (at least I presumed), young women who would prefer to look at the two guys with their shirts off rather than read about Kentucky sports and Kige Ramsey. So I asked if any of the 14,300 people who follow us on Twitter were at the event to please email a picture proving it, to see if I was correct.
Not surprisingly, I was dead wrong. We received 20 pictures and another 20-25 messages from KSR fans saying they were at the event, thus meaning that there is an overlap between the “Twilight” fan base and the KSR group. I was a little shaken by the news, but not quite as shaken as when I got ready for bed and saw a message from Randall Cobb (you know the UK QB) saying that HE TOO was at the Twilight premiere. I still havent totally processed that news, but nevertheless it looks as if the “Twilight” reach (and potentially the KSR reach) goes farther than I would have imagined. Below are some pictures of KSR fans ready for Twilight…if you are in one of the pictures, email me when our KSR SWAG hits the market this August and we will send you a free shirt or signed copy of BTI’s boxer shorts….and to the guy who is in the picture (who is apparently named Jake)….just tell me you didnt go alone:
