Twany Beckham was interviewed today on the eve of his Senior Day game tomorrow against Florida. Beckham spoke about John Calipari allowing him to step on the floor for a brief stint the other night against his former team, Mississippi State, in what might have been his final game minutes on the floor as a Wildcat. Beckham said Calipari chose to do it against Mississippi State because he wasn’t sure the opportunity would come against the Gators. Beckham knew his teammates would need to concentrate on the game against Florida, and not him.
“It meant a lot. I’ve always admired Coach,” Beckham said. “He cares a lot about us. When he came to me at the end of the game, I was all smiles. I didn’t know if I’d ever step on the court again. When he said that I almost sprinted up there.”
