Turgeon on Polson, “Who’s that?”
Mark Turgeon began his post-game press conference by saying that his team entered that game fully expecting to win. What he didn’t expect? Jarrod Polson. Turgeon said that when Polson first checked into the game, he thought to himself, “Who’s that?”
When asked how much his staff/team game-planned for Jarrod Polson, Turgeon promptly replied, “Absolutely zero.” Turgeon had the utmost respect for what Polson did though, even though he didn’t expect it. “He was the difference. He was the whole key to the game. Kid gave them confidence. And he made the play of the game on the rebound… I don’t even know what year he is.”

Jared Polson got screwed out of POG. He and Kyle were the only 2 that played the complete game. WCS and Goodwin had a good first half and not much after….Harrow, Mays,Poythress underachieved the whole game and we were lucky to have just enough to pull it out. The postgame interview with coach is a disgrace with all the commercials.

When year after year you see little boys pretending every day to hit the game winning shot for UK and know how much it means to them you can’t help but feel happy to see one of them actually live that dream. Most of the players on this team did not grow up dreaming of playing for UK and only UK their entire lives like Kentucky boys do. I felt the same way for Darius Miller and Ravi Moss and they weren’t white.
