Trey Lyles plans visits to watch the Cats

According to @ChrisFisher247, 2014 PF Trey Lyles has scheduled visits to watch the Cats play twice over the next month. Lyles will visit Louisville for the Kentucky game on December 29th, and Lexington for the Kentucky/Texas A&M game on January 12th.

Lyles, the fifth ranked player in the 2014 class, recently decommitted from Indiana. Last week, Cal watched Lyles play, along with Tyus Jones.

Hopefully we can give him a good show.

I’m sure oldschool will come on here pretty soon saying what a good thing it is that this one-and-done prospect won’t be going to play for his beloved Hoosiers…

    1- ***crickets***

This kid is going to be a Cat. He loves watching UK play ball. That 2014 class is going to be downright nasty.

He is a smart kid. He gets to watch the Cats play twice, and it only costs him one official visit to UK. So he will take an official visit to UL, just so he can watch the Cats. This kid is smart! That is why he decommitted from Indiana. Smart kid!

Probably knows he’ll have a chance at playing time as a freshman at UK. Might not get that opportunity at a true college where most players stick around longer than 8 months.

6 – you mean a “true college” like UNC, where they have fake African Studies classes, or Duke, where they have a supplemental jewelry purchase policy, or IU, where they have an AAU pipeline set up to funnel foreign players. Yeah, makes perfect sense.

@6 IU didn’t really want him anyway right?

1 – it is never a good thing for a local kid to de-commit from the regional/hometown team. And “the word on the street” is that IU was actually fine with him walking once they’d had a chance to get to know him a bit better CHARACTER-WISE. Shoe contracts. Possible NCAA violations/impermissible visits. When Lyles said he was decomitting he wanted to keep IU on the list. IU decided to bail on that one as soon as they could. Lyles had an open gym not long after decommitting and IU wasn’t playing the game anymore an didnt showup. The kid is a great talent, and sounds like he will actually fit in beter at UK.

I was at the uk game at the yum two years ago. I had a huge uk redneck next to me. He sounded like he lived on the west virginia line. Hope there is a more educated sounding cat fan next to me this year.

11 – Orrrrr – and hear me out here – NONE of that is true, and IU just decided to focus on the players they were actually going to get.

First off, IU did not back off by choice, they just knew Trey was a lost cause – he only listed IU to avoid venom, which came his way anyway, so he dropped them shortly thereafter.

Second, he’ll be a Cat. You can take that to the bank. Info comes from very reliable inner circle guy who has never been wrong over at Cats Illustrated. Expect a commitment shortly after the visit for the Aggies game.

11, that’s funny, “word on the street” was similar for Teague – that he had “character issues”, at least when the UL and IU fans talked about him.
