Top 10 Mystery Recruit Announcing Within The Hour

One time podcast guest Jeff Goodman has announced via twitter that he will be hosting a commitment announcing party with one of Scout’s top ten players for 2011 today at noon.  While there is a possibility Matt could get the name from him, Goodman refuses to return my texts (likely because I don’t have his number,) so like the rest of the world, we will have to guess who it is.  There are only 5 uncommitted players in the Scout top ten, so that limits our choices.

Here are your options, with the schools they are considering:

Overall number 2: Quincy Miller – Considering Baylor, Louisville, Duke, Illinois, Kentucky, Memphis, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Syracuse, Wake Forest, Georgetown, Miami (Fl), North Carolina State

Overall number 3: Austin Rivers – Considering Duke, Florida, North Carolina, Kansas, Kentucky, UCLA

Overall number 5: Anthony Davis – Considering Kentucky, Ohio State, Syracuse, DePaul

Overall number 9: Rakeem Christmas – Considering Florida, Florida International, Georgetown, Oklahoma, Rutgers, Syracuse, Texas

Overall number 10: Adonis Thomas – Considering Arkansas, Duke, Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, Memphis, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, UCLA

To be honest, if it was any of the first three, I would expect Goodman to tease it with ‘receiving a commitment from a top five player,’ and not a top ten.  But the possibility remains that we could see the commitment of a kid that has Kentucky on their list.  Mainly because Rakeem Christmas is the only one that isn’t considering Kentucky, but still.  You should be able to watch the commitment on or you could follow Jeff Goodman’s twitter for more details.  Or if it’s someone important, the news can be found right here on KSR.

If it’s Quincy Miller and he has decided to play for Louisville, it might be one of the weirdest weeks in Louisville basketball history.  But if it’s Anthony Davis, Pat Forde will likely break the sound barrier running for his computer.  Tune in at noon and cover your ears…

UPDATE: It was Christmas.  What a let down.
