Hell, at least they have some good fortune. What does UK have and, moreover, what are they doing about it? This tiny bit of momentum at Vandy will take UK years to overcome simply b/c UK has no intention of trying to keep up with anybody in FB.

JayCee @ 108 is exactly right. If only Phillips had gone 6-6 (2-6) and lost to a Big East team in a minor bowl game in his first season as head coach, like James Franklin did at Vandy. This fanbase would be super pumped. Also, Franklin clearly had no talent on that team, based upon the 3rd round draft pick at corner, the free-agent safety signed, the 7th round pick at DE, and the 4-7 round grade given to the kid who gave up football to go to law school.

I’ve been saying since Vandy hired Franklin, that is exactly the kind of coach UK needs. Young, fiery, up and comer. I’m telling you UK needs to make an all out assault at Mario Cristobal after this year.

127- Are you seriously siting lower round draft picks as talent? LMAO at you, man.

38-8. What ya got for that?

They took UF to the wire in the swamp (lost by less than a TD) and played every single common opponent closer than UK did sans UT.

Keep yer head in the sand, bro. I’ll be here to laugh my ass off at you in Nov.

I wasn’t knocking Vandy or saying they won’t keep Franklin. Just pointing out that Matt is completely wrong when he states that we can’t get the players that the other teams get in the conference. If Joker doesn’t get it done this year, he HAS to go. We need a coach that is aggressive, can bring in better talent, and take advantage of UT being down like Vandy has.

It is not ridiculous to think that UK can go 7-5 at least once every 4 years and 8+ once every 10 years.

Just so I understand you perfectly, 0-8 -> 2-6 is amazing. 2-6 -> 2-6 is disaster. I mean, that’s your argument, right? Are we counting Vandy’s moral victories now? I mean, 2010 UK stayed close with a lot of teams, but I certainly don’t see any credit for that. Vandy and JayCee, Moral Victory National Champs, 2011! I guess when you’re an abject failure, you can only foresee abject failure for others, because then your failures don’t seem so individualized.

Why would you not think that play wouldn’t work in the NBA? That was part of my point in arguing why Davis deserves to play a lot on this Olympic team.
