Happy Mother’s Day 2020 to all of the mom’s throughout the Big Blue Nation. There aren’t enough words to truly describe the impact that moms have on us on a daily basis. I know my mom is one of the main reasons I am at the point I am now. There is no way I could have done it without her support along the way, Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!
Now onto the news you need to know to start your day:
Dekel Crowdus will announce his college decision today
Class of 2021 wide receiver and Frederick Douglass star Dekel Crowdus will announce his college commitment this afternoon at 5:00 pm on his social media.
Crowdus played his sophomore season at FDHS, but last year played for the IMG Academy in Florida. He will suit up locally again for his senior season.
The four-star recruit is rated as one of the top 50 receivers in the entire nation and the second-best player in the state. He trails only his Douglass teammate and UK target Jager Burton.
On Saturday, Nick Roush dove deep into what a Crowdus commitment today would mean for the Cats moving forward. You can find that below:
Tyler Herro’s new hair breaks the internet
If you spent any time on social media yesterday then you have probably already seen the picture of Tyler Herro’s new hair. Anyone that has ever seen me knows that I am the LAST person that should criticize someone for a hairstyle so I will leave that up to you. If he’s happy, I’m happy.
Jeremy Jarmon talks COVID-19 with Finebaum
The best thing I read yesterday was a recap of former UK football defensive lineman Jeremy Jarmon and his experience on the frontline of fighting COVID-19.
One quote really did stand out to me the most. It just shows what those fighting this pandemic on a daily basis are dealing with.
“It was one of the most inspiring things I’ve ever seen, that I’ve ever been a part of watching the community come together with drive-by parades for the staff, churches making meals for the staff. At hotels people are offering up rooms for nurses to stay free of charge, unsure of whether they were going to transmit the virus to their kids and to their families. It’s just something I never thought in my life I would experience. I’m so proud of the team I’m a part of now here at Sumner Regional.”

Five-star guard Patrick Baldwin puts Kentucky in top ten

Patrick Baldwin Jr. is a 6’9 wing out of Wisconsin. In an interview earlier this year, he said Kentucky is “really high up there” in his recruitment. His top ten schools, along with Kentucky, include Duke, Georgetown, Michigan, Milwaukee, North Carolina, Northwestern, UCLA, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Kentucky Football offers in-state quarterback
Could Kentucky lock up another quarterback from the state? Yesterday, class of 2022 quarterback Gavin Wimsatt announced he has received an offer to play college ball in Lexington.
— Gavin Wimsatt (@GavinWimsatt) May 10, 2020
Wimsatt is a 6’3 dual-threat quarterback for Owensboro High School. Last season, he passed for 2,729 yards and 31 touchdowns while also adding 564 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground.
Working as an opposing school radio announcer, I have seen Wimsatt line up both on the gridiron and on the hardwood. His athleticism is extremely evident and he is oozing with potential.
