There’s no more Pikeville or Dillard on the schedule. The sprinkles on the faces have come and gone. It’s time to get this thing rolling for real. And, for Kentucky, the real season begins on Friday at Rupp against East Tennessee State, the Atlantic Sun’s representative in the past two NCAA tournaments. The Buccaneers, who won the A-Sun tourney as a five-seed last year and inspired NCAA change, are expected to improve on last year’s commendable performance that ended in a bloodbatht ot the Wildcats in the first round as they return four starters and leading scorer from two years ago Mike Smith, who missed all but four games last season with an injury. Can they give the Cats a push in the opener? Can they conquer the lingering pain of last year’s defeat? Did they notice how long that sentence was a few seconds ago?
More importantly, are they bringing this guy? I hope not….
