Thursday’s Football Practice Video

It was the last opportunity to meet with head coach Joker Phillips before his team hosts Georgia this weekend. Among the topics discussed by Phillips were the health of his team going into the game, getting the running game going, and RB Raymond Sanders choice to wear #26 this weekend to honor injured RB CoShik Williams. Have a look.

I really want to have some glimmer of excitement for the rest of the season, but it’s just not happening.

If Joker cares anything about the programs, he should resign immediately. Mitch Barnhart has done a lot a great things, but If he screws up the next hire then he should be fired as well.

Barnhart has screwed up enough already for him to be fired. Why give him a chance to further mess things up?

We already knew this story, but I love how Cal pops up in a Yahoo music article. It’s Cal’s world!

It seems like Joker can’t conduct any type of interview without eluding to “youth” or how young his team is. He mentioned the young guys on his team needing a security blanket in this particular clip. I did a very quick scan of Alabama’s roster and compared it to UK’s out of curiosity. Alabama has 12 seniors, UK has 17. Alabama has 18 juniors, UK has 15. Alabama has 31 sophs, UK has 29. Alabama has 40 freshmen, UK has 52. These numbers may be off by one or two but the point is that Bama and UK are very, very similar when it comes to age/experience. Constantly blaming inept coaching on youth is getting real old…

Bullet points, please. I come here so I don’t have to listen to all the hot air but can just get the run down.

Wish joker would bust out a Bear Bryant sport coat in honor of a real football coach.

You know, a UK coach that other schools actually wanted to take from us. Hell, I bet joker could be the highest paid coach in America if mitch other schools to pitch in to keep joker here. Do you think uofl or any of our SEC league mates want joker here OR us to hire real football???

I still will not watch any of these practice “updates”. It is all useless, this season is a disaster and will not get any better know matter how practices go.

Any chance that we quit talking about football until Joker is gone? It upsets my digestive patterns.

How about some more pictures of hot young things in sports jerseys instead of having to look at Joker’s mug for another week?

I was a big advocate for giving Joker more time but that has come and gone. He is digging his own grave. The fact that we are still ‘working’ on things is unacceptable. What the heck is spring practice for?? This time of year the good teams are just tweaking things here and there, we have guys that don’t even know the [email protected] playbook!!! That doesn’t make sense either it should take that long the learn how to run off tackle or figure out a screen pass. Do we even run plays for our tight ends? We used to have great tight ends and ran effective plays for them. I wish I was wrong but he has got to go. I know we are young but there are plenty of teams that have freshman and sophomore producing. If our players are bad this year the only hope we have for next year is mediocre. Assuming they have learned the playbook by then!!

5 – I’m glad somebody pointed out that the other SEC teams also have Freshmen and Sophomores on their teams. We keep hearing about this great yong talent Joker has assembled, but let’s see how many will show up on the SEC All-Freshman team at the end of the year.

Landon Foster will make the all SEC Team. Cody Quinn will make the all SEC Team. Demarcus Sweat would have made it but we dont have a QB to get him the ball.Darryl Collin probably will make it. We have 5 games left and from the ARKANSA game that ;ong Touchdown was a will route and alot of miss tackle by everybody You have too watch the film too see that it wasnt just freshman missing their assignment. It was veteran LB and CB getting burned on certain plays. a lot people who post on here need to post postive things about players. You have a lot of recruits that read these WEB SITES.Plus to answer your question about other team has freshman and sophmores, but the different is COACHES. Kentucky has a lot SEC caliber players. Its just we dont have the COACHES to MOTIVATE them and push them like CALIPARI. Listen to Calipari interviews compared them to the Football Coaches interview totally different mindset in answering question and what he expect from his players. Calipari look at you with a straight face. He know what he want in a player. Just because you are a 5 star doesnt mean you going to come in here and be the star. Its a TEAM EFFORT.

    5. How many of Alabama’s freshman are starting at QB or in the secondary or at LB. I’m too lazy to look it up?
