8: I looked both words up…and don’t see a diff between AVENGE and REVENGE. But I thought the same thing and then realized I was thinking too hard about it. It’s not revenge against any team. It’s revenge against mediocrity. It’s revenge against those who insulted our UK name. It’s avenging our reputation. As “avengers” or a team “seeking revenge”, we will play with a chip on our shoulders. We will make others pay for their laughing at us this year.
H.A. Milton Says: Initial steps/moves are made in early April (when a kid declares for the draft). But the nail-in-the-coffin date is the day they can pull out of draft and maintain eligibility with NCAA. In recent years, that pull-out date has fallen sometime between April 20th and May 10th. So as long as they don’t sign an agent or have a third party assist in the costs to work out for NBA teams, they can enter in early April, then pull out in late April or Early May and still be good to go for the Cats next fall.

The way NCAA eligibility rules are (very ridiculous), and knowing that CAL has never had recruiting violations (but been bitten in the butt by the actions of a couple kids); we can only hope that him and the Assistants and Sandy Bell are on their game with the 4 freshman. The CATS STAFF really needs to make sure every dollar is accounted for as they go to workout for teams or put their foot in the NBA Waters….that and the agent thing. We all remember how hairy that Randolph Morris situation got.

It’s a nicely done video but I don’t see the need for revenge If there’s anything revengeful, it’s the way this year’s team played. Kind of hard to “revenge” against yourself.

Cal is sitting down with every player today and tomorrow to discuss their future at UK. He is most likely going to tell them if you want to stay here you will have to commit to changing, if not then there’s the door. I have been told that Harrow most likely transfers, he graduates early, so he will be a graduate student, and will be allowed to play anywhere as long as that school offers a major UK doesn’t. Wiltjer is not leaving and I believe Poythress, Goodwin, and Willie all stay and then in about 2 weeks we will be adding Wiggins, since we currently lead for him over UNC.
Maybe this video would make more sense to have been posted after the tourney instead of during, especially if UL or IU doesn’t win it all. I think it looks silly to be bragging about next year when we’re still in the middle of the tournament and one of them is probably going to win it all.
