These Cats are exciting! Top the Mountaineers 71-63

Pure sex

After storming back from an eight point halftime deficit, the Wildcats came out in the second half to absolutely dominate West Virginia. Brandon Knight played one of the best offensive games of his young career and was simply unstoppable in the half court. Josh Harrellson continued his run of postseason dominance with a performance only matched in beauty by the constant CBS crowd shots of his father, Doug. The officiating was questionable at times but the Cats were able to overcome that by playing good defense, getting rebounds and keeping their heads.

We’ve got more in a few. For now, celebrate and get ready for our Sweet Sixteen battle with George Mason, I mean, Ohio State.

Jones good decisions, didn’t force anything. Knights offense off set some of his mistakes (fouls and silly turnovers). Refs terrible with allowing mountainqueers many offensive fouls and moving screens.
Great job Cal for having no Kanter. Sweet 16 bound bitches!!!

They have a chance against Ohio State.

Not expecting them to win but at least they get the opportunity…that’s more than a lot of other teams can say. (Shout out to Rick Pitino with that last remark! LOL)

I was starting to think of Mazzulla as the modern era Miles Simon…but second half Liggins put a stop to him!!! Thanks Liggins!!!!!!

Knight and Harrellson were key to this game…Miller had a huge and I mean huge 3 when we needed it and while he didn’t score like the last half dozen games…his will and willingness to keep shooting and keep playing meant when he needed a shot, he was able to hit it!!

Love the desire, heart and will to not lose from them at this point in the NCAA and it carries over from the SEC and SECT!

Jones needs a break out game and everyone else continue their play…we may be unbeatable!!! On to the Sweet 16 baby!!!

Jorts played like a man today. Once again Liggins and Harrelson stepped up for the upper classmen. Miller made a crucial bucket, I am glad he kept shooting inspite of having an off shooting night. Those were some valuable 3 points at a critical time. Cats pulled out a close one. Huggins looked like he was about to cry during the post game interview. On to OSU and hopefully we get hot behind the 3 point line.

Questionable calls!?! They were horrific calls! I seriously believe the last foul with .4 seconds at the end of the first half was quite possibly one of the worst 10 calls of the season. You DO NOT call a foul in that situation. IF you DO call a foul YOU CALL THE FOUL ON THE PLAYER WALKING ALL OVER THE GUY ON THE FLOOR!

  45. BlueMike
    2:58 pm March 19, 2011 Permalink

While Jones did look a little lost at times, he still came through with a quiet double-double. 12 points and 10 boards. I’ll take that every game. I’d like to see more points out of him, but he came down with a rebound or made a free throw at times when they were needed. Knight had a lot of making up from the Princeton game and he did it. That’s just sick, averaging 16 points in the tournament and he only scored 2 in the first game. Go Big Blue!!!!!!!!

No idea what Calipari told the team at halftime or at any other point throughout, but the team made very smart adjustments at critical times of the games on both ends of the court. Defensive switches puzzled the couch burners. 2nd half play calling on the offensive end were wonderful and kept all players involved. Well done, Coach. On another note, do they allow three steps in the Big East before they call traveling? Go Cats!! Beat George Mason!!!

UK won. Oh well then I will just leark around in the background until we loose again. Then I can say all this and it will look like I’m smart.

Big win! For the cats. Cal did an awesome job. Our role players have developed into stars. And BK is so good shooting and running the team. We will be a tough out for the armpit of the nation, Ohio.

This team is very exciting and with lowered expectation they might do the unthinkable. Hey you are still in it until someone send you home packing. Harrellson does the dirty work, Liggins bring the defensive prowless, Knight brings the offensive firepower, Jones made some key blocks and key passes when the game was still in doubt, Lamb and Miller provide key three pointers. What more do you need? One good thing about this team is you never know who is going to step up that makes it difficult for opponents to prepare. I look for Miller and Lamb to carry offensive load in the next game. Go Cats.

Just think how good this team could be if we got Miller and Jones to come out and play 40 minutes like MEN…goodc win today…and it is nice to be in the sweet 16…but remember, we are supposed to be. If Cal could get a solid performance out of all our guys, we could be real dangerous. We did a lot of good things today….the only thing that concerns me is Miller backing down, he played weak. We are gonna need everyone to take Ohio State. Remeber, we are UK…we are supposed to be here.

You guys can thank me. DO IT.

I started watching the game when we were up 7. The announcers said we were doing great so far. I’m watching and 10 minutes later we were down 8. I stopped watching, I knew it was my fault. I came back 40 minutes later to give it another shot. I was surprised to see we were up 4. 5 minutes later we were down 5.

This time around it was crystal clear. It WAS my fault. I decided to not watch the end of the game. I only came back to check the final score.

I only got to see them play TERRIBLE today. I sacrificed my fanhood for the greater good.

    THANK ME NOW.

Surprising that Miller took a big step backward after all those good games…just hard to predict what these guys think from time to time…today definitely wasn’t Miller time…Jones…what can you say…the guy just CONTINUES to be lazy and timid when it comes time to take it to the rim…TG he had a good game on the boards….really ridiculous that he got SEC frosh of the year award.

    32) Helps that he’s 6’10”.

    45) Most of Jones’ double digit point games lately have been with garbage time points. Sometimes it helped, sometimes it didn’t matter. He hasn’t been a force for weeks. We need him back.

Those pieces of crap wearing the striped uniforms shouldn’t be allowed to officiate the rest of the tournament. How 3 guys can bet that bad is statistically impossible.

I think that its funny at the start of the season everyone was giving jorts so much crap, and counting him out as a producer. Now look… Without him there is no way we would have even made the tournament… He is a HUGE part of this team and its success. He played his ass off today, and i would like to see everyone including cal give him more credit. With jorts being 6″10 and big Sullinger at 6″8 with nearly matching weight this could be a great matchup!!!
