The sports schedule is getting a little hectic. The NFL is hitting its stride. High school football playoffs are in session. College football is in it’s last month. High school, college, and pro basketball is ramping up. Mondays are good days to plan out your week and make sure you don’t miss any of the UK-related action. Let’s get to it, shall we?
Men’s Basketball – Miami University at Kentucky – BBSN – 7:00: The Wildcats go for the multi-sport sweep of the Redhawks. I went to the football version of this match-up earlier in the year, and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it. I know it is a wacky concept, but it is a pleasant experience to enjoy a legal adult beverage while watching a college football game. It is the most underrated part of every UK bowl game and every away game at Louisville.
Women’s Basketball – Kentucky at Morehead – 7:00: UK Hoops tries the multi-gender basketball sweep of the Eagles. Patrick Barker will be on later with ways that Kentucky could lose this game but then accurately predict the winning margin.
NBA – San Antonio at Dallas – ESPN – 9:30: Keith Bogans had 13 points last time the Spurs faced Dallas. It will be fun watching him get a ring.
Men’s Basketball – Sam Houston State at Kentucky – Fox Sports South – 7:00: I think any team named for Sam Houston should make their players wear a mustache at all times. I include the women’s teams in this edict. The more handlebar-esque, the better.
NBA – Orlando at Boston – ESPN – 8:00: Rondo is always a fun guy to watch. Boston has a lot of crazy connections with Kentucky. Pitino. Mercer. John Y. Brown. Walker. Most of the associations don’t end all that well and even Rajon was disgruntled and almost traded in the off-season. Weird.
Men’s Basketball – Rider at Kentucky – Fox Sports South – 1:00: UK faces a team that just knocked off Mississippi State in Starkville. The Broncs, aside from having a badass nickname, will be a great test for the Cats.
Football – Kentucky at Georgia – 7:45: Incoming understatement: This is a big game. If UK wins out, we could actually finish 2nd in the SEC East and go to the Outback Bowl? That is almost unfathomable considering our state of mind after the Mississippi State loss. I have one request. Can we get Derrick Locke to retake the picture they keep using for him on game broadcasts? He looks half-asleep.
Rifle Team – Kentucky at West Virginia – TBA: Ashley Jackson is awesome.
Women’s Basketball – UT Chattanooga at Kentucky – 6:00: Pardon me boy, is that the cat that ate your new shoes?
NFL – Week 11: As always, remember to support the former Wildcats that are playing in the NFL.
Speaking of the NFL, Jared Allen talks about his grooming habits in this video. I know it isn’t about Kentucky, but it is about mullets and a commonwealth without mullets is a place I don’t wanna be:
Are we sure he isn’t from Irvine?
