Its been crazy around these parts this weekend as the celebration continues from the amazing victory the Cats brought home from Fayetteville on Saturday. Credit goes to a range of people from Andre Woodson to Trevard Lindley to Derrick Locke. Celebration time has been rolling as Cats’ fans contemplate the very real possibility that this team may make even more noise as the season goes along. It is a busy week around here, but here are a few notes to get you going on Monday….
(1) The injury news is not bad after the game. Even though many of the players got bumps and bruises during the contest. The only player who may see a loss of time in next week’s game is Alfonso Smith, who may have a high ankle sprain. Do expect however that guys like Burton and Little could be given fewer reps in the game in order to get them healthy for South Carolina.
(2) The huge Kentucky pep rally in Louisville tonight on 4th Street is an event that everyone in the area should attend. Coach Brooks will be doing his Coach’s show from 4th Street and we will be broadcasting live from right outside the festivities. Come and show the Ville how much Blue you have and say hello to us while you are at it. It should be a fun event, beginning at 5:30.
(3) Spoke to a family member of Chris Singleton tonight who told me that his visit is a go for Midnight Madness. The individual told me that Chris is “really excited” to get to Lexington and ready to see “what all the hype is about.”
(4) UK is trying to get a visit from Terrance Jennings for the same event. Jennings is likely to visit three schools besides Maryland and UK is jockeying right now to be one of those spots….and in the process has made contact in the last few days. Getting Jennings would be unbelieavably huge for UK at this point and turn the class into a potential Top 5 job.
There will be more later this afternoon. However for now, here are some highlights of the UK-Arkansas game and the post-game with Woodson and Brooks:
