The Sweater Vest is no more

After three months of NCAA violations, cover ups and cover ups of his cover ups, the saga of Jim Tressel came to a conclusion as the Ohio State head coach resigned. Tressel leaves with 106-22 record and more SEC beatings than Goldman Sachs.  The departure seems to be in Tressel’s best interest as he gets to ride into the sunset under the “resignation” tag before things get even uglier.  However, he still lives in Ohio, so it’s kind of a wash.

Steve Brown is not expected to be a candidate to replace him.

Tressel couldn’t beat the SEC in the BCS championship anyway. Tressel looking more and more like the Izzo of college basketball

When will these coaches learn? First, Bruce Pearl, now Jim Tressel. As much as you don’t like them and as much as they go back and forth, you don’t lie to the NCAA.. They tend to frown upon such shenanigans.

Bottom line, he had to cheat to beat the SEC. That is his legacy.

10- Did the suckeyes win the championship? No, they didn’t. The suckeyes have won 1 banner under Tressel, none of which came against the SEC. He is like Izzo, both can get to the big game, hell even win one, but they lose more often than not.

12- they beat miami for a championship and they are in a BCS bowl every year i would take that over the music city bowl and the liberty and i cant even remember what shitty bowl we were in last year. Joker will never get our program to that level.

I am sure that the President and the A.D. both spoke to Tressel to resign as they would like to keep their jobs. I am sure they were all thinking this would help reduce the smack down the NCAA should put on the program, but now there is no telling what those bafoons will do.

14- we can agree on that about wanting UK to get to the BCS bowls. As for Joker, I’m not sure yet. I’ll give him his time.

What we have learned is that people who wear sweaters and vest do a lot of lying, whether it’s IU red or OSU crimson!

    21 – Obvious

Yes it is obvious, he cheated before he got to Ohio State, then cheated while there. UK hiring Tressel in football would be like hiring Pearl in basketball. I would rather take my chances with Joker than be on the NCAA radar from day 1 if UK hired Tressel. Ohio State will survive, but if the same thing happened at UK you know the NCAA would give us the death penalty.

Tressel will wind up like Galen Hall after his brush with the NCAA. Hall is an AC for Penn State, and I am guessing Tressel will wind up in a similar spot. Able to coach, but no longer able to be the head coach at a major program. Why would UK want a coach that can not win SEC games! We have that already.

Tressel wouldn’t come and I don’t think we want him…you guys serious? We already have 2 bad scandals at UK…why ask for the next one. #leggo Joker
