Now for a quick edition of your news and views…

— Kentucky has moved on from the Notre Dame win and the Cats are now getting ready for the Hoosiers on Saturday.  I know one player who really needs to be ready to play when UK’s longtime rival comes to town.  Check out what Coach Cal had to say about Darius Miller after Wednesday’s win over Notre Dame:

“I just want Darius to be one of those guys that everyone in the country talks about because I think he has that ability,” the coach said. “You know how many rebounds he had a halftime? None. Are you kidding me? Why aren’t you going after balls? Just do it. He could be as good as anybody in the country. He can handle it. He can shoot it. He’s a smart kid. He’s got enough athleticism to dunk on you. But there is something in there that’s holding him back. And it’s also keeping us down a little bit.”

Darius has been a huge disappointment so far this season as he has been the poster boy for underachievement.  Like Calipari said, we all know he has the game but he’s just not getting it done.  It’s like he plays scared and wants these superstar freshmen to do all of the scoring when he’s capable of taking over the game himself.  Terrence Jones is Kentucky’s best player but this team isn’t going anywhere without Darius playing to his full potential.  Get it together, Darius.  You got this.

— And one last thing about the Notre Dame game, Wittle Hansbrough might be the biggest douche in all of college basketball.  If you know of anyone who can compete with his douchebaggery, please enlighten me.

Five-star recruit DeAndre Daniels will be taking an official visit to Kentucky this weekend. You may remember DeAndre as that small forward we almost added to this year’s class after he decommitted from Texas.  Daniels chose to go to prep school for a year to polish his game instead and now he’s a big name in the 2011 class.  Rivals ranks Daniels as the #9 overall player for 2011 and he has Kentucky and Kansas very high on his list. So let’s show the young man a good basketball atmosphere by talking trash to Tom Crean and dancing to “Mony Mony” in the aisles.

— For those of you looking for other awesome things to do on the internet outside of KSR and Kige Ramsey YouTube videos, Coach Cal will chat with fans Monday at noon on FoxSportsSouth.com. It’s the first in a series of chats to be held throughout the season.  If anyone can get Coach Cal to answer the “Any news on Patterson or Lucas?” question, we’ll give away a lifetime supply of Kentucky Barnstorming Tour t-shirts.

— Ohio State freshman Jared Sullinger scored 40 points in the Buckeyes HUGE win over IUPUI.  I can only imagine what kind of fierce competition the big man was facing against the Jaguars.  Some say Sullinger is the best freshman in the country this season.  Others say Enes Kanter dominated Sullinger at the Nike Hoops Summit this year.  #FreeEnes either way.

— Speaking of freshmen, Kentucky tight end Jordan Aumiller was named First Team All-SEC Freshman.  Aumiller caught 18 passes for 193 yards and a touchdown in 11 games this season.  Congratulations to the Boyle County native.

— Enes was not freed Thursday and it’s doubtful he’ll be freed on Friday.  That doesn’t mean we can’t keep shouting FREE ENES!

— Jodie Meeks was the leading scorer for Philadelphia Thursday night against Boston. Meeks scored 19 points while going 4-4 from three point land.  Meeks also logged the most minutes for the Sixers with 40.  It’s looking like Jodie is establishing his spot as a go-to-guy for the 76ers offense.  His play as of late has been a surprise to many, including his teammates, but we all knew he had it in him.  It’s only a matter of time before we see another 54 point game.  Ok, maybe not but I’m still hoping for it.

— On the other side, Rajon Rondo scored 19 points and had 14 assists for the Celtics.  His last assist came on the final play of the game, a Kevin Garnett buzzer beater for the win.  These days it seems like 14 assists is just another day at the office for #9.  Ridiculous.

— And finally, make sure you’re tuned into 1080 AM at 10:00 am Friday morning for Thomas Beisner’s Kentucky Sports Radio radio debut.  Beisner will be in studio with Matt and Big EZ for two hours talking about everything from Cats and Hoosiers to changing dirty diapers.  It should be a great show and Beisner’s appearance in the Bluegrass State should make for a great weekend.

That’s all I got, my friends.  Go Cats?
