Maxwell Smith tweets that he wanted to play

I suppose the 24-hour Twitter ban after games is over. Maxwell Smith tweeted about the decision by the coaches not to play him today.

I once successfully requested "The Wobble" to be played 6 times at one wedding.

Why are you trying ot make this something it isn’t? Just tweeted (in a good way) that the coaches didn’t think he should play, although he wished he could compete. He had an injury the the coaches felt shouldn’t be risked? Why are you trying to make something out of this? Awful.

Good effort? That shows right there how much you know. Transfer. There are a lot of NAIA schools where you could compete for a job. By the end of this year you’ll be ready to transfer. You’ll come running out of that tunnel and see 50,000 empty seats.

I’m sure he did want to play, but that doesn’t mean it would have been wise. Let’s be honest, while we may not have expected the loss to be as bad as it turned out, we still all anticipated a loss. And if we’re going to lose anyway, might as well rest Smith up so that he’ll be fully recovered for the rest of our games, rather than risk exacerbating an injury. Maybe the decision was an exercise in triage.

This was a very subtle jab at Joker. Max Smith was not injured!! Just Thursday Joker said “I ve got no worries, and going into gameday Smith ALL first team reps, and then as they line-up Phillips tels Smith, youre out Newton is in.

Joker knew he was going to get killed in this game, and playing Newton was just his way of saying “see we were short-handed”.

I wonder which key players will be on the sideline for the massacre next weekend, and I wonder what Jokers excuse will be then? Until then we have a week of “we gave good effort in practice” to look forward to

I’m not mad that we lost to Florida, they are a quality team and we quite frankly suck. I just feel as though we have nothing at all going for us. Seeing no improvement on both sides of the ball and terrible play calling week in and week out is frustrating. For goodness sake, WKU was more physical then us and we are in the SEC. Obviously, the weeks are falling off this program and the coaches are starting to lose the players and it is very likely we may not win another game this season. That just SUCKS….I understand we play in the toughest conference in football, but can we please be competitive. I hate to lose, but I really hate losing the way we are now. Time for a change.

To the season ticket holders – send a d*mn message! Tailgate next week during the SC game and skip the game. I know Mitchy already has your money, but send a sign by not going to the game. Besides, Lattimore will rush for over 200 yards and SC will put 50 up against UK anyway.

Substantively it means nothing – but if there really is a team ban, and Max came out and said he wanted to play but due to “coaches decisions” he didn’t, one has to think there may be more going on.

#12 – Man you really read deep into that tweet. Every injured player wants to play… Just think, a healthy Max threw how many picks against Alabama’s (oops Western KY) last week. What does an injured Max do against a top 15 SEC team?

i think this was a very overt jab at joker. smith realizes that his ‘coach’ is the worst ‘coach’ in football and is probably tired of him not giving 100%. e.g. calling a screen play when it’s 3rd and 15….100 times every game.

    17) maybe not in the W/L column, but they could’ve been competitive. I bet
Smith would’ve thrown for more than 48 yards.

Towles is redshirted thank goodness! He won’t have a wasted year under the Joker. Maybe, just maybe he will be given an early Xmas gift in a coach who is a great offensive mind and has won at a mediocre school in SEC football. Bobby Petrino.

George Costanza said it first, but it applies perfectly to Joker’s coaching career, too:
“It became very clear to me sitting out there today that every decision I’ve made in my entire life has been wrong. My life is the complete opposite of everything I want it to be. Every instinct I have, in every aspect of life, be it something to wear, something to eat – it’s all been wrong”

What type of misguided loyalty/lethargy has gotten the UK Football Program to this point! The fact that we can put such a disappointing product on the field week after week is unbelievable. These people who defend this coaching staff are like a teenager making excuses for why they didn’t do their home work! If Joker is trying to pull the “the dog ate it” scam, then it’s time for him to go!!!! I’ve seen this coming for years. Anyone who knows the game can see back fundamentals being ignored in everything from individual plays to play calling and game management. I think the mediocre success of the latter Brooks years was in spite of this. They made a huge mistake when they name d “The Joke” coach in waiting. It’s time to call a turd a turd, and today’s game was a big pile of them!

Curry was fired in the middle of the season, but allowed to finish the year. Team responded by beating Georgia that week. I thought the Defense played well in the first half. If this team plays to its potential, it can still win some games.

I say fire Joker and Randy Sanders. Make Pat Washington interim head coach, he has a ton of coaching experience and coached under Larry Fadora at southern miss last year. His WR unit is the only unit on the team that has made considerable improvements since last year. Also, make Andre Woodson interim offensive coordinator. Play calling can’t get any worse and I know he is pretty good at motivating an offense to win and knows a thing or two about offense and playing against SEC defenses. Finally, id keep Rick Minter on D. His unit has been improving each game. They had UK in a position to compete today before Newton threw the game away. Id go with that and build off it until we can get Jokers contract paid off and reevaluate the situation. Can’t get any worse and atleast that would remove Joker and Randy from the team.

Love our players. Love Joker for his contributions as a player, recruiter, and coach in the past. But he has to leave. He is not going to lead us anywhere but down. He was not offensive coordinator material and is worse as head coach.
