The Other Four

It’s hard to believe, I know, but Ole Miss does have four other players outside of Marshall Henderson in its starting five.  We’ve spent a lot time focusing on Henderson, his intolerable on-court presence, and methods of buying weed, but let’s not overlook the other four Rebel starters and what they’ll bring to tonight’s game.

6-6 | 210 lb. | Sophomore
(4.6 pts., 2.2 reb, 0.9 ast)

LaDarius White scored a season-high 17 points in Ole Miss’s last outing, the close road win at Auburn.  That’s two more than Marshall Henderson’s 15 but no one is talking about White.

Fun Fact: His nickname is Snoop.

6-3 | 184 lb. | Sophomore
(8.8 pts, 3.8 ast, 1.7 reb)

Summers was top 10 in the SEC in assists last season, when he started 30 games at point guard for the Rebels as a true freshman.  This year, he is ranked first in the conference and 11th nationally in assist/TO ratio at 3.0.  He’s also averaging over 12 points per game in conference play, including 14 points against Auburn last time out.

More people should be talking about what he’s done to lead Ole Miss to its 17-2 record, but they’re not.

6-9 | 235 lb. | Senior
(9.9 pts., 7.9 reb, 2.8 blks)

If not for Nerlens Noel, Reginald Bucker would be the SEC’s leader in blocked shots this season.  He ranks second in the conference and 16th in the nation with almost three blocks per game.  His 281 career blocked shots is the 7th most in SEC history.

Darius Miller doesn’t care.

6-7 | 240 lb. | Senior
(14.8 pts., 10.4 reb, 1.5 ast)

Holloway was an All-SEC second team selection last season and he’s currently the conference’s active career leader in rebounds and double-doubles, second in steals and third in scoring.  He leads the SEC and is ranked 13th nationally in rebounds this season, while averaging a double-double through Ole Miss’s 19 games.

Marshall Henderson gets the publicity, but containing Murphy Holloway is just as important to Kentucky’s success tonight.  He’ll be a handful for Kentucky’s frontcourt, Kyle Wiltjer especially, if Willie Cauley-Stein can’t go.

Holloway is Ole Miss’ best player, not Henderson.

I feel like Murphy Holloway has been at Ole Miss for about 8 years now.

I think we should be more worried about Holloway. He will destroy Poythress.

millers dunk is top one of the manliest dunks ever…just simply owned that guy….. Crawford against UofL, Stevenson against UNLV, Azabuki against SC, DA against UofL, and of course Minnifield was just gross…MKG had a pretty sick one too
