Here are some score predictions for around the web:
Saturday Down South
Jon: The battle of the SEC winless. You know what? I’m going to go with Kentucky and switch it up. Both teams are without their starting quarterbacks, and why couldn’t Kentucky carry over some momentum against Georgia and get their first win? Kentucky 21, Missouri 17
Kevin: I think Missouri plays decent at home and will get this win even despite not having James Franklin at quarterback. Missouri 24, Kentucky 17
The game comes down to: Quarterback injuries have taken a toll on both sides. Missouri’s Corbin Berkstresser will likely start for the injured James Franklin, while Towles and Whitlow could split reps for Kentucky. The team that can get the most consistent play out of its QB will have a good shot in this one. It’s also difficult to figure out which Kentucky team will show up. Will it be the one that lost to Western Kentucky or the one that put a scare into Georgia and South Carolina?
Prediction: Missouri 28, Kentucky 21
The Wildcats have played South Carolina close and challenged Georgia last week in a 29-24 loss. Both opponents were caught looking ahead, something that shouldn’t afflict Missouri even with a road game against Florida next week. Missouri’s not in contention for anything but a minor bowl. But minus starting quarterback James Franklin, Missouri is vulnerable. The Tigers have scored multiple offensive touchdowns in a game just once since Sept. 8, and that came against UCF. Sooner or later, Kentucky’s going to complete a game and pull a shocking upset. Might as well be this week.
