When it comes to exciting moments in Prestonsburg, few will top when the Poffo Brothers had to take it to the mat on opposite sides with George Weingeroff and Miser. There is still a slogan in Prestonsburg “We remember Weingeroff” that is oft-repeated. But we will do our best Monday, when we come to Prestonsburg for the first stop of the KSR Tour. We will be doing the radio show there from 10 am to noon and I hope you will come out and join us for the festivities. We will be at Stonecrest Golf Course and you can come listen to the show, win prizes and hang out with the other UK fans. We hope you will stop by and meeting the KSR fans from all around the state. Is Miss Debbie Combs from the “Special Attraction Girls, Girls, Girls” portion of the poster any relation to Big O?

Leapin’ Lanny & Randy Savage. Brothers by birth, spent a lot of years in Lexington. Seem to remember Randy playing baseball at UK with Doug Flynn. Lanny Poffo was born in Canada according to Wikipedia, Randy Poffo born in Columbus, Ohio. Remember watching Lanny on a weekly wrestling show hosted by a Knoxville TN localstation-TV was black & white with rabbit ear antenna-it was a live TV show and got pretty crazy-I think Jerry Lawler was a regular on that show too. Good ol’ days.

Why don’t you all ever go to NKY? I believe there are some UK fans there too.

Ha ha ha I remember Savage used to call that opponent “George Blindgroff” because he had a lazy eye. So politically incorrect in those days. BTW- Mizer was Lanny and Savage’s dad so that match was a real family affair.

The reason they don’t go to Jackson Purchase or NKY is because they aren’t on the radio there. Get your local station on board, the guys will come.

Miss Debbie Combs, aside from being a notoriously strong grappler, is also well known within wrestling circles as being the innovator of the “reverse cowgirl,” and a woman who helped usher in the Divas era of wrestling. While her current whereabouts are unknown, reports are that she was last seen at Harneds Drive In in the beautiful Jackson Purchase region of Kentucky.

Brie’s Brews is a great place in London, if you are still looking for a place to do the show.
