Yesterday, Bruce Pearl ran laps around Wayne Chism, moving him on to face Joakim Noah for a spot in the Final Four. The best of the comments from yesterday’s festivities:
As a 53 year-old guy, a vote for Pearl would just be admitting that I was jealous….sorry Wayne.
Now, onto to today’s all-CBS matchup…
(1) Billy Packer – The godfather of media members universally despised by Kentucky fans, Packer’s absence from the sidelines this year during March Madness has been the major subplot that has kept a thus far unspectacular tournament tolerable, at least for me. I could use this space to tell you about his old age, senility and general craziness, or, I could let you listen to Packer talk like an old, senile, crazy person all by himself…so here you go.
(4) Seth Davis – Davis, the evil Dukie who seems bent on securing the mantle of Most Hated CBS Personality by the Big Blue nation from Packer, has been part of my other favorite subplot of the tournament. I’m used to Davis sitting mostly alone in the CBS studio, with only Greg Gumbel to hear his ridiculous rantings. Not this year, however, as the network’s newest analyst Greg Anthony (another KSR liveblog guest, and slowest typer in history) has made appearances alongside Davis to debate the tournament. What I really want to know is, could there be a situation where anyone would believe anything Davis, a certified buffoon on the court, says about basketball over a national champion point guard and NBA player like Anthony? Forget basketball. In a split-screen situation, chances are I’m believing Anthony over Davis about pretty much anything. If Greg Anthony was telling me that I need to retreat to an underground cellar for fear of an uprising of robots, and Seth Davis was on the other side of my television, it wouldn’t matter. I’d be packed and headed for the nearest fallout shelter before Davis even opened his mouth. Maybe that’s just me, though.
This should be a good battle. Do your thing in the comments and vote in the poll.
