In Monday’s action, Joakim Noah rolled Tony Harris with 94% of the vote, moving the man-bear-pig onto the next round. The featured comment comes from one of my fellow blogger contest final four participants:
from Chris Minton:
If they found Noah’s body in the middle of the road, I’d bet money there wouldn’t be skid marks in front of it.
Now, onto what should be a fun matchup…
(2) Bruce Pearl – The leader of the puke orange nation, Bruce Pearl has been a whirlwind since coming to Tennessee. Whether it’s increasing awareness of the program by painting his chest/gut or making the sideline interview his own personal speed date, Pearl is a master at selling his program. Unfortunately, to fans not wearing that gawd-awful shade of orange, he’s just flat out annoying. His seemingly “never shut up” attitude makes it nearly impossible to like the Vols, even when they’re not playing Kentucky. National media people and non-interested parties seem to like Pearl and his fun-natured shenanigans, and why shouldn’t they? I mean the guy is just oozing charisma. Wait a second, that’s not charisma that soaks through his jacket?
(7) Nick Calathes – In his brief time in Gainesville, Calathes has managed to cement his legacy as a leading loser in a string of them at Florida. And surprisingly, it’s not just the way he looks that did it. His general demeanor is irritating, but his skills are unquestionable. He got into it with Ramel Bradley twice last season, and is one of those people that seems to both know and like the fact that everyone hates them. Tuesday night, he almost left an indellible mark on the history of Kentucky basketball. Calathes’ virtuoso performance almost left the Cats with their third straight home SEC loss and their NCAA tourney hopes on life support. Instead, when there was some real adversity (you listening Jimmy Dykes?) Calathes choked like Mama Cass. And it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.
I’m working on tweaking the bracket for this little competition, and I’ll announce the changes in the post tomorrow. For now, please do what you will with these two losers in the comments and vote in the poll to the right.
