It looks more and more likely each passing week that there will be as many as 4 SEC schools looking for new football coaches for 2013. That said, does timing become as issue for UK? Do we need to be worried about getting a jump start on a search or is it a situation where we are who we are and any coach we hire wouldn’t be considered for those other three jobs anyway?

Someone stated that they are concerned that Jorts, Orton, Liggins and Teague are barely holding onto NBA roster spots looks bad on Cal. If you think about it though Liggins, Jorts and Orton were not Calipari recruits and it could be argued that none of the three would have fared as well as they have professionally had the task been left to Billy Clyde. Once again a better than 2 TD underdog on the road to a 3-3 team this week, but all is well with some folks. It beats anything I’ve ever seen.

  72. Rich Madky
    10:33 am October 22, 2012 Permalink

For the 10,000th time…Rich Brooks inherited a team decimated by probation. It was expected to take him years to turn it around. Joker was given the job for the STATED PURPOSE of keeping the winning and bowls going. It was publicly stated that Joker would prevent an adjustment period and the program would continue on. Well, it went downhill from almost the moment Joker took over.

So, Brooks inherited a mess…Joker inherited a solidly mediocre program. Brooks built, Joker tore down.

    That is all.

  73. Head Bussa
    10:33 am October 22, 2012 Permalink

Don’t group Rich’s last year in with Joker’s first year. Rich’s team was, for the most part, a more competitive team and finished with a winning record. I trust that Rich’s last team would have beat Louisville, Mississippi State, WKU, Kent St., and Georgia (as they beat Georgia that season).

101- Available meaning anyone that would legitimately entertain the idea of taking the job whether currently employed or not. I said earlier if UK football is in a position to compete with UT, Arky, and AU for a coach then they need to be on this RIGHT NOW. If we’re not going to be in the running for the same coaches those schools will target then maybe we can take a step back. But I’m in the camp that waiting is ultimately not a good thing. But, that’s why we pay an AD.

The homeless guy proceeded to ask me about each bottle of wine I bought and wanted to know the cost and the % alcohol content. Then he asked me what the alcohol content was of the beer that I had ordered. Then the poor guy proceeded to order a pint of pumpkin ale…I told him not to do it but he did…he drank less than half and it cost him $4.50. I felt sorry for him…but I warned him.
