The Harrisons Win a State Title

After losing in the Texas 5A State Championship last year, Aaron and Andrew Harrison weren’t going to let it happen two years in a row. “It makes it sweeter because we lost last year,” said Andrew Harrison after the game. “Every great player wants to win a state championship. I felt it was our duty to do that.” Andrew scored 16 points while grabbing 9 rebounds, earning him MVP honors in the 46-38 victory. Andrew’s clutch free throw shooting will be much appreciated next year, after knocking down 9-14 overall and silencing a late surge by South Grand Prairie  in the final minutes.

Unfortunately Aaron was gimpy for the entirety of the game, turning his ankle in the opening minutes and only managing to score 8 points. The ankle didn’t stop him from playing, or take away from the importance of the victory. “It’s been a long, long road. We finally made it. Losing this game wouldn’t have defined our high school career, but it ended it the right way.”

We need some winners in here. Its a good sign when a players team wins a state championship. You know these kids know what it takes to win and are willing to fight to get the win. Hawkins from Madison Central needs to get a scholly. The kid is a winner and he willed his team to win it all.

Just so you know, 9/14 is only 64%. Seems a lot like Archies 63%

Congrats to the twins. I admire them for making their commitment early. That’s tells me they are BBN. They could have prolonged the process and enjoyed the limelight but chose not too. That tells me they’re all about winning not glory for themselves.

I live in Austin and the game was televised. Both Harrisons struggled at the line in the final 2 minutes, FYI. Check the facts, friend. Hope they focus on working on the “Mays” aspect of the game.
