The Eagles Released Trevard Lindley

Add another former Kentucky Wildcat to the NFL Free Agent list. Trevard Lindley was released by the Philadelphia Eagles today. Lindley is not eligible for the Eagles’ practice squad because he played in 11 games for Philadelphia last season. NFL rules say a player cannot join a practice squad if he played more than six games in the previous season.

The news isn’t exactly shocking, considering the Eagles spent 1.5 trillion dollars on defensive backs this offseason. Trevard shouldn’t have to wait too long before finding another opportunity.

Chris Matthews should feel somewhat responsible for this. He caught a touchdown over his former college teammate in the Eagles-Browns preseason game.

This could be a good opportunity for Trevard. He should be able to get more playing time with another team.

I think he’ll be most likely to get picked up by another team but with all the recent former UK players being released that doesn’t speak too well for UK player development.

Cincinnati Bengals, where are you? Snap him up and give him James Joseph’s old spot!

#4=correct, he’s better than anybody they have there now, with the possible exception of Leon Hall.
