Blake McClain at Linebacker? The only way I can understand this is with a sandwich. Mrs. Tyler can you go…oh ..nevermind

Thought Shad Cunningham would have made the depth chart at wide reciever.

No McWilson? Expected Hatcher to be 2nd team with ease, and Willis or Hytchye to start

Surprised by Jonathan George over Jojo Kemp.

The only explanation I can think of for McClain at SLB is he rotates into that position for nickel coverage situations.

No surprises here. I expect Whitlow to win the QB battle, and Daryl Collins to win the slot receiver battle. Once Tiller gets beat a couple time(and he will) I expect Nate to take that spot.

#5-Cunningham hasn’t been mentioned all fall and is ineligible for this year.

Most upsetting is the absence of McWilson who was a stud of a safety recruit and i though would be a huge improvement from Dixon or Blaylock. Still expect Marcus and Glen to win the starting jobs, we are just really lucky to still have Ashley.

A lot of these are subject to change. Willis will start eventually but he got to the team very late and was banged up a bit. They’ll probably rotate all 4 of those CBs.

McWilson is still just a freshman regardless of talent and Lowery Faulkner etc. are some of are more talented returners on defense. He may break through this year but we have a lot of safeties so if he wasnt a real upgrade THIS YEAR then they may just be trying to get 5 years out of him.

Timmons will start eventually and and JoJo will get backup duties sooner rather than later although I still think George is better than given credit for

Miles Simpson is not a Middle Linebacker. He should be starting at Strong Side Backer over Korey Brown!

What, no defensive backs returning kicks this year? The next thing you know, these guys will actually throw a pass on first down!

Marcus McWilson will be our nickel guy. In a nutshell, Kentucky’s nickel position is the blending of a linebacker and a safety.

Sounds like McClain will be sharing nickel duties with McWilson, fwiw.

    from Stoops’ presser:

ON FRESHMAN DB BLAKE MCCLAIN LISTED AS THE NO. 2 STRONGSIDE LINEBACKER: “That would be the nickel spot. Maybe a little typo there. Sam/Nickel for us, depending on down and distance.”

Congratulations to all members of the 2013 Big Blue Nation. I played at Ky in the 1970’s we went undefeated in the SEC. Went on to the NFL won a couple of Super Bowls. A little advice, Play every down as if it were your LAST! Workout everyday as if it were your last rep! Go to class everyday, get your DEGREE, you will need it later! The NFL stands for NOT FOR LONG! Average player plays 2.2 years. Love the game, respect others, walk away from trouble, others are jealous and want to make a name for themselves, stay away from them. Be a gentleman off the field, and crazy on the field, learn to turn up the dial for game day. May the Football Gods be generous to each and everyone of you. Go Big Blue!!!
