It’s been a strange 12 months for the team that knocked off Kentucky in the 1997 championship game. It all started when head coach Lute Olsen took a leave of absence and then dismissed the coach who was tabbed as his eventual successor just weeks before. Then top assistant Josh Pastner bounced out of town and Olsen cleaned out his other assistants, including ’97 MOP Miles Simon. Top 2008 recruit Brandon Jennings went overseas and then Olsen decided he was over it and stepped down. Now, top 2009 recruit Abdul Gaddy has decommitted from the Wildcats, as well. Gaddy is a five-star prospect and ranks as Rivals’ second-best point guard and the 13th best prospect in the class. Things are getting ugly in Tucson.
