The Alphabet Game

peytonsivakentuckyvlouisvillejnpxh7qtdy5l

I’m sure everyone reading this is like me, in the fact that I can not wait for the Louisville game this weekend ….

That game has been the topic of almost all the conversations I’ve had with my family this Holiday season. In all the conversations, many reasons have been brought up as to why we will win

So here it is, A-Z reasons why we’ll crush the dirty birds …

Atmosphere – We haven’t lost in Rupp Arena in 42 games, the Nation’s current longest home winning streak.  Calipari won’t let the first loss come from UL

Blocks – the Wildcats lead the nation in Blocks

Competition – Louisville hasn’t had a real test yet.

Davis – Who on Louisville can stop him? Yup, no one.

Energy- When we stay running, teams can’t keep up.

Foreign – Louisville hasn’t played on the road. Dickie V even tweeted asking if Louisville had an airport.

Gas pedal to the medal- we play better when we are consistently up and down the floor.

Hustle- Who plays harder than MKG? Do you think Louisville is getting up early, putting in extra work, starting a “Breakfast Club?”

Interchangeable- the Wildcats can play multiple positions. Dieng cant Dribble like Davis.

Jealous- UK is basketball tradition, Louisville is jealous of that.

Kidd- Gilchrist- ‘nuff said

Lamb- He has experience in big games, and makes some tough shots in those big games, three goggles anyone?

Mismatch’s- Davis vs Dieng, who can guard TJ or MKG?

Noise Level- Rupp Arena will be the definition of a hostile environment.

Offense- UK is #13 in NCAA in team scoring

Points in the paint- We can rebound and get more points in the paint than UL

Quest- UK is on a mission to get #8 and improve every game, that mission gives us passion for every game.

Rebounding margin- Both schools are tied nationally at #37 but our big guys give us an edge on the defensive rebounds when we get aggressive.

Scoring- We have more talent on our team with more opportunities to score.

Turn-Overs- Our defense will be forcing turn-overs the whole game

Understanding of the game – UK works harder and longer to study and understand how each team plays and how to beat that style of play. This is why we saw Calipari working on the zone in the live practice.

Vengeance- Anthony Davis said of Terrence Jones that after the injury and after the Chattanooga game “he’s going to come out in the next game with even more vengeance.”

Work ethic- UK’s > UL’s

eXtraordinary talent- we do have the #1 recruiting class

Youthful- We’re young and we play fast, Louisville can’t keep up with our pace

Zeal- Kentucky has a passion for the game. From the coach to the bench, everyone wants to win and get better every game.

NC State crushed Louisville’s football spirits, now we just have to crush their basketball spirits. Hurry. Up. Saturday.

UL played Butler on the road(not exactly a great distance i know). We’ve only played IU as an away game, KU was neautral court and probably more UK fans were there. I would have rather you said something about our wins or NC and KU becasuse that isn’t accurate.

8- UK has had 4 games outside of Rupp Arena and U of L has had 1 outside of the chicken bucket. U of L is not ready for the atmosphere Sat. They can’t be. Pitino has done a disservice to his team for his scheduling so far.

UL doesn’t match up with Kentucky from a pure talent or athleticism standpoint so they’ll be looking for an “equalizer” of sorts. Personally, I think Louisville’s game plan will come down to one thing: try to make the game as physical as possible. The whole world knows that Terrence Jones dislocated his finger so I wouldn’t be surprised to see some “targetted fouls” there in the hope of impacting his play. And we (as well as the UL coaching staff) saw what happened when Anthony Davis got in foul trouble @ IU. I think they’ll focus on that, as well. Having 18 players on your roster enables you to sub in a lot of guys for the sole purpose of fouling.

They have the first words along with UL. We can only watch to see who has the last (remember IU much?). I am pulling for UK to lock down and WORK for a blowout!!!

WE haven’t been playing good defense and we haven’t been rebounding well, It seems like everbody is depending on davis to get all the rebounds by himself! Jones needs to get his behind off the perimeter and help out! Those are the areas i think this team needs to work on!

If you want Shakespeare go to the freaking library. You guys are Turd Monkeys!!!

Anyone else tired of people giving credit to UL for their big road win this year? They beat lowly 6-7 Butler on the road. Not even close to the environment or skill level they’ll face on Saturday.

UK’s biggest concern is Pitino’s trademark hack ’em – smack ’em defense. That’s why Calipari began a crusade against soft officiating (via the media) after last week’s game versus Loyola. If the game is called properly, it will be a blowout. If it isn’t called properly it should still be a blowout.

12-2 to start the New Year sounds great for the Cardinals.

Looks like this writer would have learned not to underestimate our opponents from the Indiana game. This article shows no objectivity whatsoever. When one uses statistics to prove a point, you are presenting your position based upon facts. But then to run off hair brain unprovable conclusions makes the statistics totally meaningless. I was born in Lexington and am a die hard, life long Kentucky Wildcat. I work out of state most of the time and go toe to toe with all types of college basketball fans. But articles like this make us look like idiots. The whole “my dad can whip your dad” mentality of this article shows how shallow some in our fan base are. This drivle shouldn’t be posted. I love most of the funny, entertaining things that used to be on here. Because they were well thought out. My 10 year old son could write a more intelligent article than this. I hope Matt will start paying more attention to the way this site has dropped off this year. I used to look at it as my main source for all things UK. Unfortunately the ridiculousness I enjoyed along with sound articles that presented the facts, is now being reduced to nothing more than school yard tauntings. II think you men that claim to oversee this site can do better than this because for years I’ve seen it.

Probably one of the more ignorant posts I’ve seen on here. Yes, we have UofL beat in talent and athleticism. With our home court advantage, I think we definitely have the advantage against them and I believe we will win. But most of your arguments are pure assumptions that you can say about any team. ” we work harder than them”, “we have more passion for basketball than them”, and “our players are going to lay with more vengeance” are all some of your reasons why we’ll crush the cards…and they are simply stupid comments to make. Do you really think that UofL doesn’t work hard, or have passion or vengeance? Many say that UofL’s hard work and heart is the reason they are undefeated. Also, our strength of schedule is worse than Louisville’s so I don’t see what you mean when you say that Louisville hasn’t been tested like Kentucky has. Also, I think its idiotic to say that a reason we will be UofL is that they are jealous of us for basketball tradition. I’m friends with quite a few fans and they aren’t jealous of us at all. They think we are a great program and respect it, as they should. But UofL is a great program too, they jsut do not have as great a history as us. Two good teams willbe playing each other on Saturday. I don’t see any need to bash them or disrespect them.
