It was a great night for Kentucky defensively, especially after comparing it to recent history. According to the game notes from UK, Eastern Michigan’s 38 points is the lowest point total by a Kentucky opponent since those pesky Tigers of Texas Southern lost 83-35 in November of 2007. The Wildcats are now 28-0 under John Calipari when holding opponents to 55 or fewer points.
It doesn’t stop there. Eastern Michigan’s 24.8% shooting performance is the worst by a visiting team since Central Arkansas shot 20% from the field in a 67-40 loss in Rupp Arena, which also occurred in November of 2007.
It was that kind of game.
