Well, we all knew it was ‘official’, but for the sake of it being set in stone, the Southeastern Conference has formally announced that Texas A&M will join the SEC on July 1st, 2012.  Welcome, Aggies!  We’ve been waiting for you.  We made you pallet on the floor to sleep on til you get back on your feet.  Hope you don’t mind all the obsessive fans and drunk crowds…but I’m sure you guys were used to that in Texas.  Just remember, it goes like this: “SEC!…SEC!…S E C!”

Here’s the official SEC press release.

Welcome TAMU, get used to bammers thinking their shit doesn’t stink, the prefered term for them is mullets or gumps but Lil Updykes is gaining in popularity. They will constantly remind you that the have 13 NC (they count even the ones that a cerial box gave them) and amazingly found 5 of them between the ’83 and ’84 season. Enjoy it and can’t wait to go to Kyle field. Understand one other thing though, as for basketball, it owned by UK. This is not up for debate. Again welcome and have a nice day.

    My thought too #3!
I have always liked A&M, they are the anti-Longhorns team in TX. Really glad to welcome them to the SEC, they are a fine addition!

Might as well open with them next year so they can get their first SEC win.

I think UK should move to the ACC. They’d be able to play with most teams(I think) and we’d be in probably the best basketball conference.

until the SEC admits Podunk Tech, Mid Coastal Carolina, and Louisiana A&M every team in the SEC will be kicking our arse

Sorry #9 but most of the ACC would still kick our butts. Clemson, Fla. St, Miami, Ga. Tech, Va Tech, nope, UK needs to join the sunbelt.

Welcome TAMU, we owe you for that loss in 78′ and for BCG

White Castle Sliders, are you a plant from UofL? ACC for UK would be a major step down from the SEC! Not to mention, being little brother to DOOK and Tar Heels is a fate worse than hell.

Agree with you #9, or football should move down to division 2

Until Mitch opens up that checkbook and hires a big name coach..we will never improve our football program.Period.Simple as that..And Im not sure Mitch shouldnt go as well..ASAP.

How dumb is it for Kentucky’s sake to vote to strenghen the conference, without making our program stronger?? If Mitch allows us to go 2-10, we might as well entertain thoughts about moving to the ACC, because we sure as hell arent going to make any waves or sell tickets to SEC football games…this is not rocket science folks..We will hold our own in basketball in the ACC..and still have a glimmer of hope in football..I myself would rather stay in the SEC and have Mike Leach coaching us NEXT year.
