Mike Slive Says SEC Moving Forward with Texas A&M

texas

Folks it is time to find College Station on the map. As of today, the SEC has accepted Texas A&M as its 13th member. Commissioner Mike Slive says that the league is “optimistic” that Texas A&M will join the league next season, suggesting that plans for a potential lawsuit by Baylor will not derail the decision. The league is working to try and determine how to schedule next season for 13 teams and there seems to be no immediate plan to add another program, at least not for the next year’s play. We have told you a bit about the Aggies and now we all will have to learn more as the 12th man becomes the 13th team. This seems to make the finality all but certain, meaning that we need to welcome the Aggies and warn them to get ready to feel the wrath of the Big Blue.

*Earlier we wrote that they were “in”…that may be slightly premature, although starting the process of scheduling says to me that it is coming

all i can find is the Slive statement that doesn’t say they’re in, only that the SEC would like them to be in?

it’s not OFFICIALLY official. it’s just yet another vague statement. the “lawsuit” by baylor still stands. nothing has changed. wait for OU and OSU to state they are seeking admittance into PAC-12. then it will all fall apart. A&M then will be officially in the SEC

Good deal. Finally the Cats will come to my neck o’ the woods. The “Lone Star” state truly has a lot more to offer on road trips than some of the other destinations on the ol’ SEC war map.
