Terrence Jones has a big night

terrence-jones-rookie-rockets

After going in and out of the D-League all season, Terrence Jones stormed back on the scene last night for the Rockets, posting a career-high 14 points and 12 rebounds in 29 minutes (also a career-high).

The Rockets are currently in the playoff hunt and Jones’ energy helped them to a crucial win over the Sacramento Kings. Only two games back from his latest stint in the D-League, Jones’ performance may give him a leg up on Donatas Motiejunas and Thomas Robinson, his fellow back-ups at the spot. Jones said his time in the D-League helped him refine his game for whenever he got the opportunity to move up: “Going from D-league to NBA, it helped me mature and try to be ready for my turn whenever I got it.”

Teach ’em bout Kentucky, Terrence.

… someone comopare Alex Poythress to him and he had to set the record straight immediately.

Alex Poythress in no Terrence Jones.

    Alex Poythress is Sheray Thomas.

Had Terrence gone to the D-League after his freshman year, would he have ever gotten out? I doubt it. The “old” Terrence would have fit right into this years team. Remember being “sick” for a game because he was whiney after not playing well? But he became a man after that. I look for the same transformation in Alex!

    3) GTFO. That’s the worst comparison I’ve ever seen. Ever.

Alex Poythress is a freshman that in the 1980’s, 90’s, we’d all be geared up to see his improvement as a sophmore. Don’t be a hater, give the kid time to improve.

    3) I am 100% sure Poythress is better than Sheray Thomas.

TJ has played 30 minutes so 29 is not a season high. This is why girls shouldn’t cover sports. They don’t know anything.

    10. No chance. We had zero guard play this year. That was our main problem. Our guards can’t play D or get to the rim.

I’m happy for Terrence, but where in the world did he find some “energy”???? He never had any while he was at UK.

You see stuff like this happen this time of year, because most playoff teams go into cruise mode and lots of guys try and use that time to move up. Good for Terrence, though.

I think that terrance and coach mchale have a personality conflict. I have the nba package so I get to watch the rockets play a lot. There were blowouts where terrance was the only one on the bench who didn!t get in the game. He played well in the summer league and when sampson subbed for mchale.

This makes me happy. Regardless of what anyone says, TJ was one of my favorite players.
