Terrence Jones: Cover Model

The Sporting News

The Sporting News released their college basketball preview and made a smart decision in featuring UK’s Terrence Jones as the handsome cover boy. In addition, they named Anthony Davis Jr. to their first team All-American list and Terrence to their second team All-American team.

Not to knock the college basketball minds at The Sporting News, but I think the positions of those Wildcats would be more accurate if Jones was on the first team with Davis. I expect Terrence Jones to have a Derrick Williams-like sophomore campaign. If he can up the consistency of his three point shot and increase his rebounding numbers, while maintaining a high scoring output, there’s no way he’s left off any All-American first team. Similarly, I think Anthony Davis will be the most talented player in college basketball next season. Not only could he make first team All-American, he could win the player of the year award.

A front court featuring both Jones and Davis will be the best in the country, hands down. I’m looking at you North Carolina.

Watched T Jones completely dominate in Freedom Hall against the Notre Dame Fighting Harangody’s. I look for him to be in beast mode for the whole season like he was that game.

Jones will eat your face and spit on your bloody soaked 2nd layer dermis of your skin and then his saliva will drip and burn out your eyes.

I think a lot of people have forgotten the terrible downturn Jones had during the last half of the season last year. I remember in the SEC tournament it was like he could buy a bucket at some points. Hope he got it all turned around.

He was also covered up by the opponents defense the last half of the season. Which wasn’t too difficult considering we were running a 6 man rotation. I think the rest of the team will open it up for TJ this year. We have too many weapons for them to concentrate on one. I think that is what separates us from everyone except UCONN who is awfully talented and deep this year with the addition of Drummond.

Drummond and Oriakhi? Come now lets be really real. Still we’ve got a better backcourt than just about anybody outside of Florida and I love our Wings.

He will do great this year. I am sure that he has worked on going right. With the additions to the team he will get chances to play the 3, and will be much more comfortable in that role.

A more focused effort is what COACH CAL is looking for from JONES this season, thus explaining JONES lack of maturity his Freshman year. JONES has added a solid 15 lbs of muscle in off season making him even more intimidating down low. And this year if there is a hole in our front line you have to consider overall weight/inches , so JONES added girth is desperately needed. Remember all players mature at a different pace and even though JONES’s season had spots of lackluster performances he still was considered SEC Player of the year. My guess is the upcoming season for JONES will be special…

Can’t wait to get it own with UNC…. we are up 2 out of the last 3… would love to make it 3 out of 4…
