Yesterday was a great day to be a Kentucky fan in a lot of ways. While it wasn’t pretty at first, the Cats pulled away in the end for an opening season win over Toledo.
The SEC East (minus Georgia) really struggled. Tennessee lost to Georgia State. Missouri lost to Wyoming. Tennessee lost to Georgia State. South Carolina lost to North Carolina. Tennessee lost to Georgia State. Vanderbilt lost to Georgia. Did I mention Tennessee lost to Georgia State?
The meltdown of Vol fans on social media has been absolutely fantastic. One Tennessee postgame show lasted throughout most of the night with fans continuously losing their minds about the game.

This goes without mentioning everyone’s least favorite Tennessee fan (which is really a tough moniker to win), Clay Travis, who gave a live reaction to the last few minutes of the game.
This is the worst loss in Tennessee football history. Adding insult to injury @natebargatze is a huge Vandy fan & people were interrupting our live Periscope to tell him how much they loved his Netflix comedy special. I’m going drinking now. Please respect my privacy. https://t.co/fK2qgT7Wta

The best part about all of this? Is that it isn’t even the biggest meltdown… or rather lack thereof from yesterday. That title is claimed by the official Tennessee Football twitter page, who as of the time of publishing, still have yet to post a final score. In fact, the last thing they posted to their Twitter was this tweet:

So to put it simply, if someone just followed their Twitter to get updates, they would have no idea what happened in the last 12 minutes of the game. That is the goal of this post. To help share with #VolTwitter that their beloved team lost to Georgia State; a team that won only two games a year ago.
I can’t share a post about yesterday’s games without posting my favorite tweet from the day:
