University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible. Gives Kentucky 12.6% Chance of Winning SEC Tournament

theres a chance

With the SEC Tournament set to tip off tomorrow evening, excitement is beginning to build around the Bluegrass for another potential championship run. However, Kentucky fans, like fans of every other SEC team, have no idea what to expect going forward given the unpredictable nature of the 2012-13 season. While your guess as to who takes home the pyramid shaped trophy is as good as mine, the good folks at threw their hat into the prediction ring with their mathematical probabilities. The method they used is called the “Log5” method, which takes a team’s Pythagorean Win Percentage and matches that up with other competitors in their bracket. After some basic math, you get a percentage chance of advancing to a specific round (or winning the tournament). This methodology, while sounding like made up math, consistently outperforms seeding predictions every season.

According to their calculations, Kentucky has the second best chance of winning the SEC Tournament at 12.6%. Even though Billy Donovan’s Gators have sputtered recently, they’re the tournament favorites with a 69% of winning.  Missouri, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Alabama round out the top six. If you’re interested in seeing probabilities for the remainder of the SEC, or other conference tournaments, they can be found here.

Also, I apologize for going so heavy on the math this week, guys. To show you I’m not a guy who’s totally enamored with the numbers behind the game (even though, let’s face it, I am), here’s a gif of Mitch McGary “colliding” with Cody Zeller. Frankly, I’m surprised Cody Zeller is still alive after being hit harder than Russia by that stray meteor.  I mean seriously, McGary hit Zeller with more force than Ray Lewis hitting an NFL Quarterback. People felt bad for Brandon Knight this week, and rightfully so, but we truly need to keep Cody Zeller in our thoughts after this devastating blow.

Wow. Our team was ranked #3 in the nation this year. We have at least four 1st round NBA draft picks. Even stupid coaching should assure us that this team will easily win in this year’s horribly weak SEC.

    1) Um, at least 4 first round picks? Noel has been out since early/mid February. WCS is a 1st rounder. Goodwin and Poythress might be on potential, especially Goodwin. We returned no starters. We also lost both WCS and Harrow for multiple games.

Meanwhile Florida returned a lot more than us from a team that went to the Elite 8.

    Troll elsewhere, dude.

Numero uno, you are a putz.

Nerlens, in queue for ACL repair, was the only possible 1st round NBA draft pick.

UK was over rated from day 1.

Anything they can do beyond beating ther gay turds last Sat. is gravy.

My concern is what to do with everyone who is not graduating when the next class arrives in LEX.

Alright boys and girls, let’s clear this up. We have four first-rounders, period. Noel, Willie, Archie, and Alex. We were also over-rated at the beginning of the season. I guess that’s partly due to chemistry and/or maturity issues.

6, you’re wrong. Noel will not be the only first rounder.

1, we were over-rated. Cal is not a stupid coach and to suggest otherwise is idiotic.

    That’s all for now.

Seriously, a flop like that should result in an ejection and one more game suspension. Ridiculous. I’m going back to doing plank now.

Why do we have to look at that guy to the left?
Looks like yoda with a banana sack!
I know ads make websites like this possible, but really….
How about an ad for something local….like mingue bros, or ale81, or ky proud stuff.

    11. The ads you see are based upon the websites you visit. So maybe your woman is looking for a man with a big banana. Or maybe you are.

Adblock Plus allows you to block all ads. I can’t believe people still look at the internet without it. This garbage heap of a website looks fine after you install Adblock Plus and create some filter rules to block the header at the top of the page, and then the left and right columns full of ads.

Zeller also faked getting hit in the nuts against Michigan St to try and get a T on a player. IU also teaches how to act like you have been hit with a elbow to the head even if you are not hit.

16, don’t forget about Will Sheehey faking an elbow to the face against Minnesota. #TeamDoucheBag

This team flops and fakes more than the Duke team led by Wojo back in 98. JUST PLAY THE DAMNED GAME!!

wow my team has been irrelevant for 27 years and finally won our regular season conference title for the first time in 20. In a conference that has relatively week during that time period. But we finally have a good year so now me and all of my friends can come out of hiding to talk smack to arguably the greatest program in college basketball history. I just hope they dont choke so I wont have to hide for another 27 years.

Jason, you are wrong: Noel, if he is fortunate, may be a 1st rounder. The others, no sir.

Jason, you are wrong again about the ads being based on the websites one visits.

Do you just make this crap up as you go?

#21 do you have a clue? Noel will be top 10 most likely. The other 2 are definit first round possibilities. Most of the experts have them picked in first round. Does not matter what you or I think. NBA draft on potential. If you have not figured that out by now, you should probably get a job in the field of feces. Cleaning stalls, bathrooms, or septic tanks. Your pick.

Got to be something wrong with the water in Bloomington. EPA needs to check it out. First we have Bobby Knight and his failures at anger management,,,and who can forget Mike Davis’s meltdown at Rupp,,,,then we have the geniuses that hired Kelvin Sampson and his meltdown,,,,and now we have Tom Crean and his dumb ass comments directed at a Michigan assistant coach after the Michigan game. You people in Bloomington must be very proud.

Is IU the New Duke? … in matters such as flopping, faking fouls, pulling people down on them, constatntly pointing out their “greatness” and undeserved moral superiority, having universally-hated fans, etc.
