Spurred by a Sports Illustrated piece earlier today, the rumors are swirling that the SEC Presidents are voting today on the issue of inviting Texas A&M into the conference. The Aggies would need 9 votes of 12 to secure a bid which means if Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and the Mississippi schools wanted to keep the competition in the lower levels of SEC football exclusive they could do so with a four strong voting block. Fortunately for TAMU, the SEC Presidents are generally more agreeable than the United States congress and the issue is expected to pass unanimously.
You will likely hear a number of unconfirmed rumors the rest of the night with an official announcement coming sometime tomorrow. Which also means we will get to spend the rest of the week speculating as to who will be invited next to join the SEC. Everybody cool with Boise?
