Ok. Let’s be honest. We’re not going to top what you just saw. So, let’s not even try. We’ll just dish out a couple of links for you to read at your own discretion – or when you’ve picked up the pieces of your mind, which has, no doubt, been blown by what Drew Franklin just posted.
– Our fearless leader, Mr. Matthew Jones, recently sat down (or talked on the phone probably) with the Auburn fan site, WarBlogle.com, to discuss this weekend’s football contest. When not heckling them about their weak home basketball attendance, the one they call El Capitan gave a good primer on the UK squad heading into Saturday’s shakedown at Jordan-Hare.
– Also, at media day yesterday, two legends came colliding as Tom Leach and Dick “Hoops” Weiss discussed Kentucky’s expectations heading into John Calipari’s inaugural season. Weiss tells Leach that….ummm…well….I don’t really know because I am sitting in the airport this morning and can’t really hear anything. I forgot my headphones. But I remembered my Madness tickets!
– And, finally, the Washington Post has a nice feature on Jeremy Jarmon and how well the former Kentucky star is fitting in with the Redskins as a rookie. He’s developed a close relationship with Philip Daniels, who Jarmon is being groomed to replace and with whom he shares a residence. They use all the words that we used to like “maturity” and “work ethic” and even make fun of him for still carrying a backpack, but it’s a great story about a guy who will always bleed blue.
