Take A Look Into My Crystal Ball

crystal ball

After spending a month with the football team nearly everyday, I have developed a pretty good understanding of how this season is going to play out. While today’s game has more unknowns than maybe any other season opener, my feet have become wet enough to to know exactly what in the hell is going on. Here’s a few quick hitters….

2 QBs? That’s a good one. Jalen Whitlow will start and will play the entire game unless something crazy happens. The staff is smart enough to instill confidence in their QB by making him ‘the guy’; despite telling the media that both will play, in the words of Lee Corso, “FORGET ABOUT IT.” USC showed Thursday night that it isn’t a bright idea to dabble with two. The most likely scenario is throwing Max in the game once in a blue moon just to freak out the opposing team, other than that, prepare for Jalen Whitlow to be ‘the guy’ in the Air Raid.

A newcomer will start at cornerback. Cody Quinn hasn’t been on the practice field in over two weeks. Facts are optional at KSR, but I don’t even think the Sophomore CB traveled with the team (I also thought I saw him walking on campus in a boot, but I’m bad with faces). Jaleel Hytchye is likely his replacement, running with the first team for the majority of the pre-season. He packs more speed than Blake McClain and is in better shape than Nate Willis. Don’t worry too much though, the true freshman will likely spend the majority of the game covering another true freshman.

Antonio Andrews will be neutralized. The ONLY way that WKU can win is if Mr. Andrews plays like Barry Sanders, something he did for the entirety of last season. The difference between this and last year is UK’s defensive line. The front four is one of the best in the SEC (yeah I said it), leaving Sun Belt lineman a tall task in the trenches. It’s hard to get going without a line blocking for you. Avery will have a free for all while the Dline takes WKU’s offense to a stalemate.

High Tempo is more difficult than you think. Did you watch the South Carolina game Thursday night? Did you listen to David Pollack’s unrelenting criticism of Jadeveon Clowney? The best player in college football couldn’t hang with UNC’s high tempo offense. If Clowney can’t do it, do you really think WKU can? In the words of the great Wilson Wilson Wilson, “I don’t think so Tim.”

UK will win 38-24. I think the Cats are going to Win by 90, but I have to give WKU a little credit; my cousin ain’t that bad of an OC.

A Side Note

For those that love to bring out their pitch forks every time I mention my high school alma mater, explaining to me how bad 2-A football is, YOU CAN ALL SHUT YOUR FREAKING MOUTHS. With my younger bro manning the QB position for DeSales, the Colts knocked off Matt Elam and John Hardin 25-20 last night. The #10 prospect in the nation took his first loss in the regular season in his career, snapping a 43 game regular season winning streak. With 16 seconds left, a John Hardin WR caught a pass inside the ten, making it down to the 3 before fumbling it into the end zone, with DeSales recovering. Call me a homer, but I can’t help it that I like to give little bro blue some pub, especially when he did it by taking down the state’s top dog.

Clue #2,163,356 that this site is manned by amateurs: Writer tells readers to shut their freakin’ mouths. Even Jerry Tipton, who gets ragged on constantly, never lowers himself to that. No one cares about Desales or little bro QB. Sorry, but it had to be said.

Nick just stop. 2-A football is sad. DeSales is and always will be pathetic in football.

What a clown. You really think that anyone here is going to prefer your little brother, who, like his older brother will likely be trailing frustratingly after sorority girls in a year or two, over what might end up being one of the most important recruits in UK history? Furthermore, does a site that considers itself to be the best place for UK information want it out there that one of the “writers” wrote this? And it’s not that people believe 2A football is bad, it’s that most believe DeSales suck, in large part because they have had to rely on tools like you to play for them.

Matt, you need to get a grip on some of these clowns before all great work you and others have done goes down the drain.

Don’t like, don’t read it. And certainly don’t comment.
I liked it. If you didn’t that is fine go to another site and stop clicking on KSR, cause every time you do, Matt’s wallet gets a little fatter, and his writers probably get a little bonus at the end of the month if they meet revenue generation goals. So by running your mouth about how bad the writing is you may be making the writer money. lol. Kinda funny how dumb of a thing you are doing isn’t it.

#11 lol, we can certainly comment. I couldn’t care less what KSR makes of my clicks. What I do feel like commenting on is when 20 something year old wannabes make an ass of themselves. I never comment about poor writing (god knows, there’s plenty on here), but when a hack writer gets rude, he’s fair game. Feel free not to read the comments, by the way.

Just finished watching the game, and man, you couldn’t of been more wrong with everything you said. It’s amazing you get to write about something that you obviously know little about. Keep up the good work.

Whitlow has to go,he cant throw !! Plain and simple,he should be played like Cobb was. At QB should be Smith and Towles,who-ever wins the job,the other is the back-up,its so easy to see,I cant even fanthom how the staff saw anything over Whitlow starting over Maxwell to begin with, ridiculous !

Your entire post was pure comedy gold, but that nugget was too absurd to not comment on. Good luck once the SEC schedule rolls around.

Why everyone hating on the writer for ripping his brother? By reading the comments I would have thought he said UK needs to recruit his brother over Barker. Just plain stupid, especially considering just how bad the actual content of the “article” is. He providedplenty of rippable material and proved he has no clue about anything football related. UK one of the best D lines in the SEC? Dude…
