Would have liked to see Jones speak…

Still hurts. But hopefully we will learn from this:
    1. Jones show up and play aggressive like Kidd-Gilchrist
    2. Hit Free throws!
    3. Defend the 3! What is going on with that?
    4. Listen to Coach. Foul when he says to foul.

Might be a blessing in disguise.
    Go Cats!

New drinking game: shotgun a beer whenever Cal uses youth as a reason for his team’s play.

We need a statement from Jones…don’t know why a soph all american would have to be shielded from the press.

7, as of 12/4 our 68.5% FT percentage puts us at 151st out of 338 teams. So not quite the worst FT shooting team in the country, but we’ll drop some after this week. At least we’re ahead of UL (#173 with 67.8%).

” We are young” – guess what, we get to hear that all next year and the year after and the year after. We will never hang 8 like this.

haters…ALL of you. Cal can coach better than all of us combined. He doesn’t need jack As like you guys putting in your two cents. Same level of hate toward this team as there was last year about this time. When is the fanbase gonna let Cal coach and stop being so reactionary in Dec?

I have to believe all the haters that post here are just trolls and not really UK fans. Can someone start up a board where you have to be a UK student or alumni to post? Crap that gets posted here is ridiculous.

And if think you are a UK fan and feel anything less than total gratitude for what Coach Cal has done with the Basketball program in the past 2 years then you need your head examined.

Darius Miller is the biggest waste of potential in the history of UK basketball. He has the physical ability to be an NBA lottery pick, and the mental toughness and heart to be on an NBA dance team. Not only is he not a team leader as a senior, but continuously shrinks away from big plays when needed. Yeah, some other guys had bad games, but Miller should be the one constant on this team with his experience and talent. Unfortunately, he just does not have the heart, toughness, or intelligence. He was the one that should have fouled on that last play…came right to his lap. STUPID

Here is a statement from my wife during the game yesterday.(and she is a fan of UK but doesnt watch a whole lot) “Tom Crean looks like a dick face. I just want to kick him in the nuts”. Even after a loss that still had me laughing my ass off.

JBR- You embody everything that is wrong with the UK fan base. Darius almost single handedly got us back in the game. I’m disappointed that we lost, but don’t attack an amateur athlete on a message board. Darius loves UK and will be a solid contributor on a potential final four team. Would you be saying this had we won the game? Darius probably doesn’t come to your place of work and tell you how to sniff butts. Get off his back. The team will be fine.

Don’t beat me up for this. I was born a Wildcat and always will be. I’ve been sick since last night. I mean SICK! It’s just a thought. I wonder if Cal didn’t prepare them for this game or coach like normal just to throw the game. I know it sounds crazy at first but hear me out. I watched the press conf. and Cal seemed to have a weird presence about him. He even stated that if he was to lose a game he would rather it be to Tom Crean with all he has been through. As we all know rankings and records don’t mean much in December. And I don’t think we have played offensively very well since becoming number one. Cal has seemed very angry in press conf. about the team not listening to him. After a loss what would they do? They will pay attention now.

With that being said I love how we kept fighting in the end and never gave up. As long as we keep fighting and play hard I will defend our Wildcats to anyone as always.

    GO BIG BLUE!!!

7} “lose every close game” we just won a close game vs UNC idiot. 15} Miller did not play well in 1st half, only MKG and Lamb did, but Miller and Teague brought us back late.

I hate losing to the losiers but our only real concern is T Jones. I do believe Lamb and Davis will make those free throws in the future and our young guys battled a tough day in a tough place and put themselves in place to win, just lost on a tough shot…
But Jones did not care the entire game. Gave no effort on off or def the entire game. Even on the bench as we came back our bench was up and clapping but not T Jones. He not only quit on the floor but quit on the bench. If I was on that team I would not want that type of person going to battle with me, when it gets tough again I feel like he will quit again. All of us have bad days but damn it at least cheer on those busting their ass to cover your poor performance. Very disappointed in Jones as a player and person today.

This was our first road game of the season and we lost. And some of you are being negative saying things like “we are never prepared”. Don’t bash our players just because they had a not-so-great game! Real fans don’t do that. This is December not March or April. We will have things we need to learn, every team does. I’d rather learn things now then have to learn them later. I still love this team and this program, but some of you I cannot stand! Stop with the pathetic pessimism and support are players or go somewhere else, that attitude and negativity is not needed here! Go Cats!

JBR – how dare you attack Darius that way…I hope you are some IU or UL poser…no true Wildcat fan would attack a Senior the way you did. Without Darius, the way he played in the second half, we lose by 20. Darius is a KY boy, one of us…a SENIOR!!! We may not see many more of those on Cal’s teams! Darius puts out 100% effort every game…if you don’t love this team win or lose go find a new team! And if you don’t love Darius for giving us 4 years go find a new player to follow…GO CATS!!! GO DARIUS!!!

Real Cat. I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say. But your entitled to your own opinion as am I.

When one of our players states in a interview that “they had never seen IU play” I would clarify that as not being prepared.

    The game is history now.

    On to the next one.

We will comeback better then ever. Get stronger. Get faster.

    GO BIG BLUE!!!

  25. Who are you people?
    11:12 pm December 11, 2011 Permalink

That loss sucked. The first half was awful — MKG was the only player to assert himself the first 20. The 2nd half was much better and showed what this team has the potential to do. No excuses, but the refs did not help with the flow of the game — a little home cooking if you ask me. (Again, UK should have overcome that, but it was an obstacle.)

Now, to the majority of posters. Give it a flippin’ rest. I bleed as blue as anyone — read this site at least once a day, listen to the podcast of KSR, schedule around the games, subscribe to various services so i can get the games in Washington DC metro, … IT WAS JUST ONE GAME FOR GOD’S SAKES!!! It was on the road in a very hostile environment. Yes, the team is young and yes that will be a common refrain under Cal — but young is all relative. By the end of the season, any deficiencies of Cal’s UK teams to date are not due to youth. Whether no. 8 goes up this year is tbd — but the odds are NO different today than they were prior to yesterday’s game. Number 2 has it right – there are lessons for the team to learn from this loss and history shows that Cal’s UK teams do in fact learn. For the haters, please go follow Texas Tech for the next few years and see how life treats your fandom.

If i was cal i would make me kids unavaliable for interviews after a loss. i know they have to learn, but these questions (esp the ones to lamb early) are brutal for a 19-20yr old after a loss. they would even get under my skin a little

oh i just read through this thread.. a lot of you are idiots! its one freakin loss in a crazy arena. The home team hit a lucky shot to win. if you are letting all the happiness in your life ride on 18-21yr old kids winning basketball game you need to get a life. cal doesn’t “throw games” the kids are kids. amatures, not pro. this is what makes college basketball so exciting. watching these young men grow and learn from their mistakes. you know, kinda like your 45yr old ass should have done, rather than pinning all your hopes and dreams on these young men you don’t even know.

Cal takes pride in the fact that he does not make his players practice free throws – it’s on their own time. Anybody remember Memphis vs. Kansas?
