University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Sunday Morning Links, brought to you by the Tubby-Billy D bromance

-The days of going head-to-head in the SEC might be long behind them, but the Tubby Smith-Billy Donovan bromance is still alive and well. Today’s showdown in Austin looks to be an emotional roller coster for the both of them.

-Despite rumors to the contrary, Pitt coach Jamie Dixon isn’t going anywhere. The southern California native was expected to take a hard look at the vacant USC job, but instead signed a 10-year extension to remain in Pittsburgh through the 2022-2023 season.

-BBN West might not be relocating to Seattle after all. According to Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, the city has put together an impressive last minute arena deal which could be enough to keep the Kings in Sac-Town. I hope you didn’t buy too much flannel, Boogie.

-After missing 4 games with a badly sprained ankle, Brandon Knight returned to the Pistons lineup last night. He had 10 points in a win over the Bobcats.

-With new offers from Ohio State and Alabama in hand, UK football target Derek Kief is no longer flying under the radar. Stoops and Co. have their work cut out for them if they want the wideout in Lexington.

A’dia Mathies and the UK Hoops team have some lofty goals as they head into their first round tournament game against Navy today. Following a disappointing SEC tournament finish, the Cats now have their sights set on one thing– the Final Four.

Ok, that’s it for now, but I’ll be back in a bit with more. Don’t break anything while I’m gone.

Congrats to UL for defying the odds: winning two games in Rupp Arena in three days in what previously took 9 years

Tubby more likely than not got the best and even a little bit more out of the players he coached now if can just keep one of his ast. coaches from jumping from the bench and knocking down every 3pt shooter for UofF during their shot he will win again.

Who will UCLA get? I read they desperately want Shaka Smart. Bet he’s glad he didn’t jump at another job the past 2 offseasons.

Wichita State coach said his guys never quit as they took out #1 seed Gonzaga (Wiltjer will still like them) while Cal is left to say that his guys never got started. Worse UK performance of all time.

From the linked article; “However, the bid from Seattle has been accepted by the Maloofs, meaning Johnson and the Sacramento group have to persuade the NBA to overrule that. And with a competitive bid on the table and an arena deal in place, the city of Sacramento has done just about all it can reasonbly do at this point.” Boogie may want to hold on to those flannels a little while longer.

Seriously though, how many free agent 5th year seniors are we signing this offseason? Need to add depth and experience. Throw some more scholarships around Cal

I want to thank BBN for use of your small arena the last few days. Just a few observations; 1. Most HS have a better scoreboard, 2. A mall in your arena, really 3. No beers!

    KFC YUM Center has an official seating capactiy 22,500 for basketball, whereas Rupp Arena has an official seating capacity of 23,500. Last time I checked, that is one THOUSAND more seats than Yum center has. Oh and by the way, in it’s history UK has Elite 8’s starting in: 1942, ’48, 49, 51,52, 56, 57, 58, 61, 62,66,68,70,72,73,75,77,78,83,84,86,92,93, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, ’03, 05, ’10, 11, 2012….and final 4’s in 1942, 48, 49, 51, 58, 66, 75, 78, 84, 93, 96, 97, 98, 2011, 2012. and finally 8 NCAA Championships starting in: 1948, 49, 51, 58, 78, 96, 98 and 2012… The moral of this story is that UofL is, and ALWAYS WILL BE, Little Brother.

I laugh my a$$ off at these louisville fans posting negative comments on our site. They have an obsession with UK. I guess I can see why. The Elite program of all the Elite teams. With all time wins in the history of college basketball. 8 NCAA titles and should be in the hunt for # 9 next year. They are taunting us and they have not been relevant since 1986. They have 1 good team in all these years and think they have arrived. They will always be the jealous little brother want to be. I would actually pull for little brother but their fans are so hateful & resentful. I’ve lived in Louisville for the past 19 years and it’s a split down the middle red & blue city. They can not stand that either.
BBN has the largest fan following and Alumni Associations across this country and the world. I guess you are going to be hated when you are the Gold Standard.

i always get a good chuckle when i hear UK fans bragging about all time wins or how many championships they have or any other obnoxious wannabe factoid that gets tossed around. You do realize that UK was established (or at least began accumulating basketball stats) a good 15 years before UCLA right? Since UCLA basketball began we have SMASHED every team in the country in wins, championships, most undefeated seasons, most consecutive seasons with a championship, best coach to ever set foot on a basketball court, i could go on….and on….and on….. Yet somehow all you rednecks think you are kings of the world….laughable at best…and dont worry about our coaching situation, no matter who we hire, you guys will never catch us as long as cal is there, great recruiter, below average coach (i know, i know, he teaches kids how to pass the ball to one another so hes a coaching mastermind genius…lawl). you guys enjoy bragging about being the 2nd greatest program of all time, 2nd place is just the first loser, hardly worth bragging about…. 🙂

Again, go ahead and take out the probation years and remove the titles UCLA bought by paying players and whatcha got there smokey? Say goodbye to the 60’s and early 70’s bruins fans. Other than those years, WHATCHAGOT? UCLA was the land flowing with silk and money while you “won” your titles, without which even UooofL would about own you. Greatest coach my assk. Greatest blinder wearin, Hollywood FX makeover masterpiece maybe. Probably had Rupp ghost write his books for him… Go back to the bRuin$ bro…

Probably thought they made up the rule about not paying players just to keep y’all from winning more of em! UCLA! Problly thought the rule was about U, C L A! Prolly think the rule is about you- don’t you? Don’t you?!!!!!
