University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Sunday Morning Links

All I wanted to do was search Google Images for “link”, but Google, through the brilliance of modern science decided I was making a mistake and was attempting to spell LinkedIn instead, so this is the picture you all get.

I’m sorry, what did you just say Maurice Clarett? Former Ohio State and current Omaha Nighthawk running back claims he “got paid more in college than I do now in the UFL” and that in his 1 year at OSU took “golf, softball, and fishing as classes”. Just saying, I feel like that should get some more publicity.

Kentucky Basketball players need to listen to John Calipari, because this is the time of year to work out mistakes. Scott Sanderson, Lipscomb Head Coach says Ole Miss played better defense then the Wildcats, who won 88-50.

Andrew Wiggins played his 4th game in the state of Kentucky recently, but John Calipari was nowhere to be seen, instead opting to send Orlando Antigua to watch Wiggins on Saturday night while he visited with 2014 targets Trey Lyles and Cliff Alexander in Indianapolis.

Calipari’s post-game comments to the team yesterday were short and sweet, simply saying “8am workout, see you there”. The young Wildcats have yet to fully listen to Coach Cal, something they need to fix in the 2 weeks leading up to the Louisville game on December 29th.

Former Kentucky QB Shane Boyd signed a contract to play for the Tampa Storm of the Arena Football League, Boyd played the 2012 season for the Milwaukee Mustangs. Boyd last played in the NFL for the Colts’ practice squad in 2009.

There is a problem with this team and Calipari knows it. No doubt inexperience is a major culprit, but there is something motivationally missing from this group. Polythress is going through the motions, while Goodwin is all in…for himself. Whatever the reason, there is reason to believe this sq

….squad does not have the ingredients to make a championship run. Hopefully Cal can pull it together but this has to be the most difficult guys he’s worked with since his tenure at UK.

I agree guys. I just never had a good feeling about this team. I do love watching Noel when he is the “energy” guy. They just do not feel right. I cannot explain it. The good news is it could be fun to watch them get better.

    3- agreed.

One of the most immature and nusual comments came from Harrow yesterday. Something to the effect…”I was just yelling something out there” –so as to satisfy Cal and the coaches of the need to talk to each other.

I knew from the start of the season that the team would not be very good. All I had to know was Kyle Wiltjer would be starting and that Jarod Polson and Jon Hood would be in the 7-8 player rotation. Not enough talent to be very good, even in a down year talent wise nationally. Unfortunately Cal missed on Shabazz, Anthony Bennet and a few other recruits and is once again 2 players short of having sufficient talent. That being said, I am giving Coach Cal a pass this year with this group. No matter how bad it gets, he just won a national championship and deserves our support / loyalty. Sometimes recruits do not perform the way you expected.

Looks like we are out of the Wiggins sweepstakes.

#8 Don’t think you have it quite right. I don’t think Cal “missed” on Shabazz or Bennett. I think Cal refuses to take highly talented players UNLESS they have character too. And he realizes at UK he doesn’t have to take players with baggage (possible payments from handlers, shady AAU coaches, difficult parents). I’m not saying he would have necessarily landed either Shabazz or Bennett, just saying that it seems that he quit recruiting them. I have watched UCLA a couple times this season… wouldn’t want Shabazz. Your last sentence is correct, but its also important to realize that this year’s team full of freshmen is performing more to the norm than last year’s.

I thought that the Brandon Knight team was gonna “suck”, even before BBM – and they ended up in the Final Four….. Lotta games yet to be played, folks.

While I love the BBN, patience is not a virtue we possess….

Harrow’s comments were stunning. He basically admitted that he is going through the motions. This crew is VERY immature, with exception of a few guys. Harrow has been on this team for a year and has seen what takes to win….and he is going through the motions. Wiltjer also, been on the team a year and has ZERO leadership role; seems like he would rather be making those cute WBA videos. Hood is posiibly the most worthless player to ever receive a scholarship.
Our veterans need to step up.

I think if we can get Calipari, then Cousins and Wall might come here as well. And we’re looking at a lineup of Wall, Cousins, Orton, Patterson, Miller, Hood, Harrelson. I think we can make the Elite 8 with that bunch.

Anyone else think its not a good sign that ONLY Antigua went to visit Wiggins instead of the whole staff????

Hood is only real veteran, and he’s not been able to adequately prepare to lead. I see this year as a building block for next year, especially if we don’t make it far in the tournament and some of the better players stick around. Surely Cal…

Was that quote from Harrow real?? Give me a break. This means things are much worse than I even imagined. You simply cannot lose every single freshemen off of a team. I do not know why Teague left, because he cannot claim financial hardship. Florida destroys the land to develop horrible real estate and has the bulk of the Nation’s trashy women. If this is what sways Wiggins then what can you do?
