So seductive *50 Cent voice*
Morning guys. So it’s true that the above pictures have nothing to do with Sundays, mornings, or links (except that maybe the song “Easy Like Sunday Morning” jumps in my head when I gaze upon these two studs). HOWEVER. Let’s all take a second and applaud Darius and Anthony for smizing their hearts out on their official NBA.com photos (smizing= “smiling with your eyes,” for those of you not lucky enough to grow up in an America’s Next Top Model obsessed household). Terrence Jones is proud. Nice find, Havana Childers.
I had a long day yesterday with TBOX, Chicago’s infamous all day bar crawl through 43 of Wrigleyville’s
finest establishments, but don’t worry! I still found the time to get your links. It was pretty easy, actually, considering I don’t plan on leaving my bed for another twelve hours. Let’s get to it.
-Kentucky won yesterday, sweeping the Terrence Jones series against the Portland Pilots. John Clay put on his numbers hat for Twenty Stats/Notes You Need To Know From UK’s Win. Some are nice (Nerlens Noel blocked a career-high seven shots); some, not so much (we’ve only shot 55.6% from the line for the past four games? Ugh).
-Was Coach Cal satisfied with the blowout? OF COURSE NOT! According to CoachCal.com, Calipari will continue to turn up the intensity during practices and will have the team doing three-a-days at least five days a week. I’m sore just thinking about it.
-Nick Roush wasn’t satisfied, either. In his KSRC post last night, Nick outlines exactly what he wants the Cats to do more of as they continue the road to improvement.
-This afternoon, the UK Hoops team looks to continue their winning streak when they welcome Middle Tennessee State University to Lexington. Here’s everything you need to know about the matchup.
-We learned late last night that Bradley Dale Peveto was hired as Kentucky’s new safeties coach. Peveto was most recently the head coach at Northwestern State, but his most comprehensive bio can be found here, from when he was co-defensive coordinator at LSU. Peveto and Stoops worked together at Houston, and he has ties to Texas that could be prettttty handy for Kentucky’s recruiting. Score!
-CNN released their list of 75 Amazing Sports Moments You Missed This Year, and some that will interest Kentucky fans made the cut. Keep your eyes peeled for John Wall and a certain Duke loss.
-And finally, on a more somber note, Rick Majerus’ funeral took place Saturday, and hundreds attended to remember the self-described “big barbecue sauce guy,” who also happened to be a highly respected coach beloved by many. Rest in peace, Rick.
