Sunday morning links

–KSR’s favorite CBS columnist, Gregg Doyel, talks a little SEC expansion. He says that even though A&M may be right to be tired of dealing with Texas, they’re move to the SEC will be bad for them because they’ll be even less competitive in the best conference in the land than they were in the Big XII.

–According to Jennifer Smith of the Herald-Leader, UK football’s scrimmage yesterday was a draw. As in, both the offense and the defense could draw some positives from the day, in addition to finding some negatives to work on.

–John Clay writes that Joker Phillips is unafraid of adding some new sharks to the SEC. Even still, those new sharks will make his job tougher.

–This is the Tipton link. You have been warned. The good doctor writes in his basketball notebook that the financial literacy campaign that Coach Cal announced last week is just the latest in a long line of charitable endeavors that he’s taken part in during his coaching career.

–Randall Cobb earned some love after his NFL preseason debut last night for the Pack. Even though Green Bay dropped the game to Cleveland, Cobb was impressive both on special teams and when he got some looks on offense. They might think they already love him in Green Bay, but they have no idea.

–And in completely unrelated news, the H-L published a list of the top 50 high school football players in Kentucky. Listed: UK commit Patrick Towles. Not listed: Anyone from Fulton City.

Come on, Hunter…”they’re move to the SEC”?
And since we’re on the topic of grammar, Matt Jones, I would like to remind you that “I” is a subject and “me” is an object. Every single time I listen to the podcast, I hear you say something along the lines of “(insert name here) talked with Beisner and I, and he said..blahblahblah.” This is incorrect, Jones (“talked with Beisner and me” would be the correct way to phrase this). Constant grammatical mistakes make you appear uneducated (even though you clearly are not).

    1. If you wanna pull a spelling and grammar check on every article here, then go embarrass yourself somewhere else. It takes very little intelligence to understand the article the way it is written, which obviously is beyond your grasp.

Hunter, thanks for the heads up on the Tipturd link. I read it anyway. Who wrote that, and what have they done with Tipturd?

    1) this is a sports blog douche. Noone is impressed or thinks you are cool. You are probably the kid everyone picked on growing up because you were a nerd and now you are being a bully, but it a cowardly way.

LOUISVILLE? The thought had crossed my mind, but I wouldn’t like it as far as recruiting goes. SEC > Big East any day.

Hunter-special request. Just once, could we see the rest of the girl in the pink shirt?

Why not get TAMU, Texas, Virginia Tech and Notre Dame and just be done with it? Or we could get Kansas if TAMU is opposed to Texas. Or maybe we could trade Tennesse for anyone that has a lower felony to wins ratio…

Check the LHL list of top players. Devin Bruns must be a good one – He made the list twice. Plus he plays both NG and DB for the same team! Wow, a noseguard that can cover a receiver. You don’t see that every day.

BTW – The list would be better if it ranked the players and showed which colleges they were going to.
