Head nod to Fake Gimel.
-ESPN’s SEC blogger Chris Low takes a second to brag on himself for predicting that Randall Cobb would score touchdowns this year. In other news, I would like to take a second to brag on myself for predicting that the sun would rise today.
-Low’s Cobb praise isn’t done though, as he awards Randall one of his weekly helmet stickers for his performance against WKU yesterday. Is it too early to start the Heisman talk?
-Something that was almost lost in the mix yesterday was Team USA defeating Lithuania to make it into the finals for the world championships, which will be played later today. I think we can all root for a win for America, and the team opting to leave Coach K in Turkey in exchange for Enes Kanter.
-Speaking of international competition, John Wall expressed his interest in donning the Team USA jersey in the future. The management seemed to say he could get his chance as early as 2014, but with John Walls work ethic, I wouldn’t count him out for London 2012. Not to mention I had a dream last night that Derrick Rose dropped to the NBDL, so that’s one less PG competing for the spot.
-In SEC news, the dreams of Admiral Ackbar roaming the sidelines at Ole Miss appear to have been crushed by Lucas Arts. I’m a Star Wars nerd, so maybe I’m a bit biased, but this would have been hilarious. It pains me to watch that video and see attractive southern girls not getting jokes, but hey, I guess that’s why they went to Ole Miss.
Stick around for more on the game, the results of America vs. Turkey – the pre-Enes round, and all the missed sarcastic remarks you can fit in a bean basket.
